About the department
At Novo Nordisk we are experiencing a rapid growth in sales over the recent years and along with the wide range of new products to be launched, we are re-enforcing our production capability world-wide.
As our Koriyama Factory (KFA) is also expanding its workforce, this exciting opportunity is now available for Packaging Engineer, KFA in Japan to join one of the largest scale projects of the factory expansion (expanding the building, not just the equipment) by collaborating with the team members. Also, ensuring high level of compliance with all the internal and external regulations/requirements in all activities and readiness for new product launches as per defined milestones.

The position
As a Packaging Engineer, you will have a great opportunity to gain a wide range of experience working on the installation of new packaging equipment  with appropriate validation, collaborating with local/global stakeholders and improve your engineering skills in the global environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Study the requirement and design of Tablet inspection equipment and install it at  the Koriyama factory with appropriate validation and getting involved in the installation of tablet inspection equipment from a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of equipment perspectives.
  • Install packaging equipment in the Koriyama factory. The equipment will probably be European made and the activity will be led by Device Manufacturing Development (DMD) until Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), so execute the activity with DMD and get responsibility after FAT. Promote Packaging line installation that should be fit for future opportunities/products.
  • Establish a maintenance plan and take over equipment and knowledge to Engineering & Maintenance team (E&M) team.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) during audit or inspection to ensure new equipment is well qualified and/or tried where necessary and keep them tried state by the considered maintenance plan. Ensure that all activities related to packaging line installation never compromise not only quality and process performance but also the environment and employees’ safety and health aspects.

Qualifications

  • Must have a University degree or a degree holder from Mechanical-related high school/vocational school.
  • Work experience as a Packaging Engineer in any industry, preferably in the pharmaceutical or food industry.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of pharma industry and supplier management experience preferred.
  • Fluent in Japanese and business-level English proficiency, verbal or written required, ideally having TOEIC 600 at minimum.
  • Have strong communication, social, leadership, logical and logical skills.
