About the department
At Novo Nordisk we are experiencing a rapid growth in sales over the recent years and along with the wide range of new products to be launched, we are re-enforcing our production capability world-wide. As our Koriyama Factory (KFA) is on the largest scale projects of the factory expansion (expanding the building, not just the equipment), expected to business prospection by HQ. 
The Finance department at Novo Nordisk plays a crucial role in managing the financial and accounting operations of the organization. Our team is focused on ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and aiding in the overall financial health of the factory. We work collaboratively across departments and locations globally to drive financial excellence and contribute to the success of Novo Nordisk.

 

The position
As a member of our Finance Staff, you will have an excellent opportunity to gain a wide range of experience in finance operations. You'll collaborate with local and global teams based on your accounting and financing knowledge and experience. This opportunity is also open to anyone from recent graduates to junior professionals with strong English skills and knowledge, allowing them to start off a new career in financing/accounting and also gain experience with the SAP system. You will work in a self-sufficient environment, managing tasks independently with limited instruction.
You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Driving month-end and year-end closing tasks, including goods-in-transit, work-in-process, and First In, First Out (FIFO). This involves creating vouchers, requesting postings, and reviewing/correcting/confirming the results of postings
  • Manage internal controls for production variances, purchases, price differences, scraps, and inventory reconciliation. Additionally, conduct annual inventory counts
  • Improving and maintaining finance processes by working with colleagues at other sites.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, create and obtain approval for budgets three times per year, and correspond with audits and inspections conducted by the Taxation Bureau.
  • Assist with the registrations and demolitions of fixed assets, as well as running daily costings and AB (Anchor Budget) costings.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above (finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred).
  • Fluent in writing and speaking English/Japanese, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong knowledge of financial operations and accounting principles, as well as experience in month-end and year-end closing processes preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting and budgeting. Experience with internal controls and compliance standards is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and logical skills, having an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
