About the department 
At Novo Nordisk, we have been experiencing rapid sales growth in recent years, and with a wide range of new products set to be launched, we are strengthening our production capability worldwide. Our Koriyama Factory (KFA) is one of the largest-scale projects for factory expansion (expanding the building, not just the equipment), expected to drive business prospects by the headquarters (HQ).
The Finance team plays a crucial role in managing the financial and accounting operations of the organization. Our team is focused on ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and aiding in the overall financial health of the factory. We work collaboratively across departments and locations globally to drive financial excellence and contribute to the success of Novo Nordisk.

 

The position

As the Finance Manager, you will be in charge of for motivating, empathizing and developing team members to contribute to the achievement of departmental targets and results. You will lead the Finance team at the Koriyama factory, overseeing tasks such as budgeting, cost accounting, Month/Year end closing, fixed assets management, etc. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare budgets for the organization and explain / report to the upper organization. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather inputs for budgeting and support budgeting decisions. Also monitor budget performance and provide regular reports and updates.
  • Ensure appropriate allocation structure on daily costing and AB costing. Review and approve costing run outputs.
  • Review and approve vouchers / internal control documents.
  • Ensure to prepare for audits and to be able to respond to auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and financial reporting requirements. Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address compliance issues.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial and accounting operations and experience in managing cost accounting systems and cash flow. Strong knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical industry. 
  • Over 4 years of experience with People Management is preferred.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English is essential.
