About the department
Our Accounting & Tax Centre of Excellence (CoE) for BAMECA is a strategic pillar that supports global operations while ensuring compliance, transparency, and continuous improvement in all financial processes. As part of this CoE, you will join a team of highly qualified professionals working in a collaborative and inclusive environment. The role is based in our fast-growing Novo Nordisk Pakistan affiliate.

This role will have a direct reporting line to the Accounting & Tax CoE Director based in Istanbul, Türkiye and dotted reporting line to the Finance and Operations Director in Pakistan

 

The position
As the Accounting & Tax Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing accounting and tax operations, leading strategic projects, supporting employee development, and ensuring compliance with local and global standards. This is a highly visible role that requires independent decision-making, close coordination with key stakeholders, and strong leadership in process optimization and financial governance. 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for overseeing all accounting and tax-related activities in Pakistan, including group reporting, statutory filings (VAT, WHT, CIT), and ensuring accurate books and records in collaboration with the Global Business Services (GBS) team. Includes implementation of proper controls and business continuity plans.
  • Responsible for Financial House in Order agenda and holding it to a high standard through continuous monitoring and health checks.
  • Leads complex projects under the Centre of Excellence (CoE), focusing on process standardization, control optimization, and sharing of best practices across business areas. Accountable for reviewing and signing off on CoE-owned internal controls.
  • Delivers structured onboarding and ongoing training for employees on finance and accounting processes, ensuring consistent understanding and compliance across the organization including managing and developing a high-performing team by providing coaching, supporting individual development plans (IDPs), ensuring succession planning, and promoting a culture of accountability and growth.
  • Serves as the Local Due Diligence Responsible (LDDR), overseeing third-party risk assessments, certifications, and compliance documentation while also supporting other local finance and operations responsibilities.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, with strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, tax, audits, internal controls, and process improvement within a corporate or multinational environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in people management, with a track record of coaching, talent development, and fostering team engagement and performance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and results-driven individual with a continuous improvement mindset, capable of operating independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
