Team Leader - Utility & Solvent

Category:  Manufacturing
Location:

Kalundborg, Region Zealand, DK

Are you ready to lead a high-performing production team and make a real difference for people living with chronic diseases?

Step into a people-focused leadership role where your decisions directly impact patients. You will lead an established production team through a phase of growth and increasing production volumes—where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are at the core of everything we do.

The position

As Team Leader in API IO M1 Utility & Solvent, you will take ownership of a well-established team of approximately 19 operators working in a two-shift setup. The department plays a critical role in ensuring a stable, reliable, and compliant supply of utilities and solvents to downstream manufacturing.

With strong foundations already in place and a department that continues to evolve, you will play a key role in shaping future ways of working—strengthening operational excellence while developing both people and processes.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, coaching, and developing a team of ~19 operators, ensuring a safe, engaging, and high-performing work environment
  • Delivering reliable day-to-day operations, ensuring consistent supply of utilities and solvents aligned with production needs
  • Driving and embedding LEAN principles, identifying improvement opportunities, and engaging your team in continuous improvement
  • Ensuring full compliance with GMP, EHS, and quality standards in all activities
  • Collaborating closely with fellow Team Leaders, the Production Director, and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Contributing to the continued development of the department as production volumes increase
  • Acting as a visible role model for safety, quality, and continuous improvement on the shop floor

This role requires physical presence in Kalundborg, Denmark.

About the department

You will join API IO M1—one of our showcase production facilities with around 650 colleagues. Within this, the Utility & Solvent area consists of approximately 100 employees across production and operations support.

This area plays a vital role in enabling stable production by supplying water, ethanol, and solvents—ensuring operational reliability, business continuity, and scalability. You will report to the Director and be part of a leadership team of five Team Leaders, working together to support increased production while continuously raising standards across safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

We are looking for a strong people leader who thrives in developing teams and driving operational excellence in a regulated production environment.

To succeed in this role, you bring:

  • Proven leadership experience from a pharmaceutical, biotech, or other GMP-regulated production environment
  • Hands-on experience with LEAN and a track record of driving continuous improvement
  • Solid understanding of GMP and the ability to integrate compliance into daily operations
  • Experience within EHS or a strong motivation to take on EHS responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills—you build trust, engage teams, and lead with clarity and care
  • Fluency in English; Danish is an advantage due to the shop-floor nature of the role
