Lead the central Distributed Control Systems (DCS) Centre of Excellence that will shape how we deliver operational excellence across our manufacturing sites globally. Your new role
As Senior Manager of the DCS CoE, you'll be responsible for establishing and leading a central team that manages the lifecycle of DCS across API IT. You'll be the driving force behind operational excellence on the shop floor while supporting our ambitious expansion projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and leading the central DCS CoE team (10-20 specialists and system managers) who provide continuous support to operational sites and API expansion projects
- Owning the DCS systems across API sites, ensuring operational efficiency with high levels of security, compliance and lifecycle management
- Developing and delivering the service catalogue while continuously improving the operating and support model to ensure smooth and effective addition of future new sites
- Managing strategic vendor partnerships and setting the direction across CMC&PS IT on systems in the DCS portfolio in collaboration with manufacturing sites and expansion projects
- Establishing a robust 24/7 support model with effective problem-solving and management escalation procedures that minimize IT-related downtime
- Ensuring manufacturing IT systems comply with requirements from internal, external, local and global authorities, while supporting audits and inspections
- Driving continuous improvement through LEAN management systems of current and new technologies, ensuring standardization and harmonization across sites

In CMC & Product Supply, we cover the full value chain from drug and device development to marketed Novo Nordisk products. We are more than 30,000 colleagues across the globe with the shared responsibility of scaling molecules, processes, devices, and products, dedicated to supplying life-saving medicines to the patients who need them most.
The DCS CoE sits within CMC&PS IT and API IT, where you'll report to the Director of API IT. Your team will be the central point of excellence for DCS systems, balancing the urgency of production support with the agility needed for expansion projects. You'll work closely with manufacturing sites in Denmark and the US, as well as major expansion projects, ensuring our IT systems integrate seamlessly with production to deliver medicines without interruption.
Your skills & qualifications
We're looking for a leader who thrives in dynamic, high-stakes environments and has the right mentality and drive to create change and build something new. You'll bring:
- Proven managerial skills and demonstrated leadership abilities in leading global teams
- IT acumen and technical knowledge within IT and automation systems
- Experience in delivering IT support in production environments
- Experience with problem-solving in structured ways, ideally with knowledge of LEAN methodologies such as OneStar or similar continuous improvement approaches
- Knowledge of DCS or other production systems (e.g. MES systems) is beneficial
- Strong ability to establish cross-organizational collaboration and manage complex stakeholder relationships across multiple functions and geographies
- Excellent communication skills in English, with Danish language skills being an advantage
- A proactive, results-oriented approach with flexibility, change willingness and the ability to manage in highly dynamic production and project environments
