Senior Manager, Utility & Solvents

Category:  Manufacturing
Location:

Kalundborg, Region Zealand, DK

Step into a people-focused leadership role where your decisions directly impact patients living with serious chronic diseases. You will lead an established and highly important employee group through continued development, operational maturity and increasing production demands – with safety, quality, continuous improvement and Life Cycle Management (LCM) at the heart of everything you do.

Your new role
As Sr. Manager in API IO M1 US Project Support, you will lead a dedicated employee group responsible for production support, operational excellence and continued development of the area. The department supports production by ensuring stable, reliable and compliant supply of water, ethanol and solvents to downstream manufacturing.

The team includes employees contributing to projects and production support, as well as integrated automation specialists working with SattLine, LMES, SCADA and PLC. With a strong focus on optimisations and Life Cycle Management (LCM), you will help shape priorities, strengthen collaboration and ensure reliable delivery today while preparing for tomorrow.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a dedicated employee group, ensuring a safe, engaged and high-performing working environment

  • Ensuring reliable day-to-day delivery of utilities and solvents in support of production, while maintaining high standards for safety, quality and compliance

  • Driving continuous improvements and maturing LEAN ways of working, identifying improvement opportunities and bringing your team along on the journey

  • Ensuring focus on Life Cycle Management (LCM), including maintaining, improving and future-proofing processes, equipment and ways of working in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders

  • Ensuring compliance with GMP, EHS and quality standards in everything we do

  • Collaborating closely with fellow managers, the Production Director and colleagues across production, technical support and operations support

  • Contributing to the continued development of the department as downstream production scales up.

  • Acting as a visible role model for safety, quality and continuous improvement on the shop floor

Your new department
You will join API IO M1 – one of our showcase factories with around 650 colleagues, where the Utility & Solvent area alone counts approximately 100 people across production and operations support. The area is an important enabler for reliable production, supplying water, ethanol and solvents that help secure stable operations, business continuity and increasing production volumes.

Reporting to the Director, you will be part of the local management team, working together to deliver on increasing volumes while continuously raising the bar on safety, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement

Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for an experienced leader who enjoys building strong teams, setting direction and developing both people and processes in a GMP-regulated environment. You bring the ability to lead through others, create clarity and drive progress across a complex stakeholder landscape.

You'll bring with you:

  • Solid senior leadership experience from a pharmaceutical, biotech or other GMP-regulated production or production-support environment

  • Hands-on experience with LEAN, continuous improvement and a proven ability to turn strategic priorities into operational results

  • Experience with or strong interest in Life Cycle Management (LCM), including improvement, maintenance and development of processes and assets over time

  • Solid GMP knowledge and the ability to integrate compliance into daily operations

  • Knowledge of automation technologies such as SattLine, LMES, SCADA and PLC is an advantage

  • EHS experience or a strong interest in taking on EHS responsibilities as part of the role is advantageous

  • Strong people skills – you coach, develop and engage employees to build trust quickly and lead with clarity and care

  • Fluency in English; Danish is an advantage given the on-site, shop-floor nature of the role
