Marine Engineer as HVAC responsible for large factory

Are you energised by problem solving with impact? Can you identify potential problems before they arise? Are pipes, valves and HVAC equipment part of your workday? Are you eager to learn and kick-start your career at Novo Nordisk?

If you are ready to take responsibility for keeping HVAC equipment running in a manufacturing setup with very high-quality standards, then you might be our new HVAC responsible.

About the department

In Insulin Manufacturing 1(IM1), we produce the core ingredients to most recent Novo Nordisk products. In IM1 Maintenance Development, our team includes 16 skilled supporters with broad expertise, that handle all the technical support needs of both the line and the maintenance department. We spend a lot of time on shop floor support, building relations and making sure that we fully understand the process and equipment that constitute the backbone of our production. Whenever technical issues arise – and preferably before – we facilitate the problem solving and the development of corrective and preventive measures that will allow the production to continue.

The job

Your days will be highly varied but focused on HVAC equipment as well as all the maintenance and production colleagues that have a stake in keeping it running. Sometimes, your expertise will be needed for problem solving, facilitating the systematic root cause finding, which we can base corrective and preventive measures on.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsibility for HVAC in IM1, including different technical and coordinating assignments
  • Finding innovative ways to have better production time and reduce the footprint, in close collaboration with the energy steward for IM1
  • Life cycle management of equipment
  • Gathering data and presenting them to management
  • Working with data, and the identification of trends, potential and risk through data analysis
  • Online monitoring of equipment integrity and predictive maintenance in order to take productivity to the next level
  • Taking necessary actions to increase productivity on the production line by optimisation the maintenance of the equipment
  • Cross-functional assignments and participation in process groups

As the position is highly visible, you will gain a large network with your contributions to the improved effectiveness of both production and maintenance. Sometimes, issues cannot be solved inside our team or department, so you will often find yourself working across the organisation, provided with valuable business insights that we expect you to transform into solid solutions with ambitious and obtainable goals.

We image your educational background as marine engineer, engineer or similar with some experience in utility equipment or maintenance. You could also be a technician with deep insights and experience.

To qualify for the position, you would need to meet the following criteria:

  • Have a thirst for large machinery and equipment like pumps, pipes and compressors
  • Have a natural interest in solving technical problems and creating lasting improvements for both maintenance and production
  • Pay attention to energy and environmental issues
  • Represent a mix of technical skills with hands on and theoretical knowledge
  • Hold excellent stakeholder management skills and systematic problem-solving skills
  • Good IT-skills

Fluency in English is a must. Danish on a conversational level (or willingness to learn) would be considered an advantage.

As a person you are:

  • Great at setting directions and energizing people around you on your ideas and consequently transform your energy into solid results
  • Ready to work within the regulatory demands we adhere to as a pharmaceutical production, as well as having the motivation to learn more about it quickly
  • Able to create trustful relations with ease and thrive in the exchange of knowledge
  • A good listener when a colleague comes to you with a technical issue, making sure you get all the information you need to make a difference with your systematic approach
  • Holding strong communication and relation building skills. You are an energetic and outgoing individual who has an eye on detail and you never compromise on quality
