The Position

Your day-to-day will vary, involving pipes, valves, compressors and heating/cooling systems, while collaborating with both maintenance and production colleagues. Your expertise will often be needed for problem-solving, helping to facilitate systematic root cause analysis and developing corrective and preventive measures.

The main tasks will be to:

  • Systematically solve problems and provide technical support for process equipment.
  • Take action to improve productivity by optimizing maintenance strategies and enhancing equipment performance.
  • Work with data to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities through analysis.
  • Increase the level of online monitoring for equipment integrity and predictive maintenance, elevating productivity to the next level.
  • Drive internal development projects to enhance OEE, maintainability, and performance.
  • Provide support for large-scale capacity projects, offering design and component expertise.

As the position is highly visible, you’ll have the opportunity to build a broad network and contribute to improved effectiveness across production and maintenance. When challenges arise outside of our team’s expertise, you’ll collaborate with other departments, gaining valuable business insights and transforming them into practical solutions with ambitious yet achievable goals.

Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you have:

  • Educational background in marine engineering (maskinmester) or a similar field.
  • Experience in production optimization or equipment operation/maintenance (suitable for recent graduates with relevant background and the right mindset).
  • Expertise and interest in large machinery and equipment such as compressors, cooling systems, heat systems, pumps, and valves.
  • Fluency in English and Danish

As a good listener, you ask insightful questions to gather essential information for technical challenges. You communicate precisely and uphold high-quality standards. Your curiosity drives you to solve technical problems and improve maintenance and production. You are mindful of energy use and environmental impact, excel at managing stakeholder relationships, and approach problem-solving structurally. You can clearly explain technical concepts and enjoy teaching and mentoring others.

About the Department

In Manufacturing 1 (M1), we produce the core ingredients to most recent Novo Nordisk products. In M1 Black Utility, our team includes 12 highly motivated people (primarily marine engineers and skilled workers) with broad expertise, that handle all the technical support needs of both the line and the maintenance department. We spend a lot of time on shop floor support, building relations and making sure that we fully understand the process and equipment that constitute the backbone of our production. Whenever technical issues arise – and preferably before – we facilitate the problem solving and the development of corrective and preventive measures that will allow the production to continue.
