IT Senior Manager
Kalundborg, Region Zealand, DK
Your impact begins here
As IT Senior Manager, you will lead an IT team that supports the OT systems to ensure the production running in Kalundborg. Joining an area that is still being rebuilt, you will create structure, establish clear ways of working, and rebuild a stable, capable team. You will make sure reliable IT keeps manufacturing moving, and your leadership will help colleagues thrive — supporting the production of medicines for people living with serious chronic diseases.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for a leader who combines people-leadership strength with a genuine understanding of operational IT in a production environment. You will need:
- Demonstrated people-management experience, including leading and developing employees and teams.
- Experience leading through change, ambiguity or organisational build-up, and the ability to give direction where roles and structures are not yet fully established.
- A track record of building or restructuring a team or operating model, and introducing practical structures such as roles, responsibilities, KPIs, dashboards and governance.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to challenge, coach, influence and build relationships without relying on formal authority.
- Relevant exposure to IT, manufacturing, production, engineering or automation, and an understanding of how IT services connect to production continuity.
- Fluent communication in Danish and English, written and spoken.
Please note that this role is based in Kalundborg, where on-site presence is vital for the team’s success.
Useful, but not essential:
- Knowledge of Novo Nordisk’s organisation, culture and operating model.
- Experience from a regulated (GxP/GMP) manufacturing environment supporting pharmaceutical production.
- Experience with manufacturing IT systems such as MES, DCS and PLC, and with IT system management.
- Formal leadership training and a relevant educational background in IT, engineering, automation or a related field.
- Experience working across multiple business areas and establishing operational KPIs and management dashboards.
What you’ll do
You will lead a team of approximately 8–10 people, supporting daily production operations while building a stable structure for the future. You will:
- Lead, coach and develop your team, supporting well-being and creating a stable, engaged working environment.
- Build a new team structure following organisational change, establishing clear roles, responsibilities and ways of working.
- Ensure reliable IT services that keep production-critical systems running across different areas.
- Develop KPIs, dashboards, follow-up mechanisms and governance to create clarity and reduce reactive firefighting.
- Partner closely with manufacturing to enable fast, effective handling of critical incidents and stable operations.
- Balance short-term operational pressure with longer-term structure, keeping the IT organisation visible and accessible to internal customers.
Who you’ll work with
In Global Manufacturing & Supply, colleagues work across the value chain to bring Novo Nordisk products to the people who need them. You will join the GMS API IT organisation, leading one of the teams supporting production in Kalundborg.
You will report to the hiring manager rebuilding the area, and work alongside a fellow newly appointed manager as the new structure takes shape. Your closest partners will be manufacturing stakeholders across the different areas — each with different expectations and collaboration styles — along with IT system management, enterprise IT, and local and departmental leadership. The wider GMS API IT organisation spans Denmark and the US, so you will collaborate across sites where relevant, bringing clarity and shared priorities to move the work forward.
What you can expect here
You will step into a role with real scope to shape how a team works. You will be trusted to set direction, make decisions and build something that lasts, while being supported to develop as a leader. The work moves at pace and combines people, processes and technology — an environment where curiosity, collaboration and ownership create meaningful progress for colleagues and for production.
Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600 to 1,091,600 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position. The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
