Your new role

As a DCS System Engineer  for ABB 800xA systems, you will play a key role in supporting operational and industrial technology systems in a highly strategic API project. You will collaborate across teams to ensure robust, secure, and efficient IT systems that support manufacturing operations.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Support the daily operation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of ABB 800xA systems.
  • Configure and maintain 800xA platform components, applications, user access, system settings, and related interfaces.
  • Support integrations between 800xA and surrounding IT/OT systems such as MES, SAP/EWM, PAT, PI
  • Support troubleshooting of incidents, system errors, interface issues, and performance problems.
  • Support planned changes, upgrades, updates, backup/restore activities, and system release processes.
  • Ensure documentation, testing, and change control are performed in line with cGMP, GAMP, data integrity, and other industry regulations

You will join the IT and Automation and Robotics Department in Kalundborg – a diverse and collaborative team with strong cross-functional engagement. Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, you are proactive, structured, and motivated by working in a dynamic industrial IT environment.

We expect you to have:

  • A BSc or MSc degree in IT, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years experience working with ABB 800xA platform configuration, operation, and support, or 800xA application development
  • Good understanding of DCS/OT system architecture, including servers, clients, connectivity, user access, backups, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with system interfaces and integrations between automation systems and surrounding IT/OT platforms, including familiarity with integration concepts, (data mapping, tags/signals, error handling, and message formats
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

 

Furthermore, it will be a plus to have experience from a regulated environment, preferably within pharmaceutical manufacturing.

 

We are looking for someone with solid ABB 800xA experience, a structured troubleshooting mindset, and an understanding of working in a regulated environment. Experience with system integrations, validated systems, and collaboration across automation and IT is a strong advantage.

 

Most importantly, we are looking for a person who stays calm when systems need attention, communicates clearly across technical and non-technical teams, and wants to help build a strong and scalable DCS platform setup.

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 651.000 to 956.900 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.

The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.
