The Position

As an Associate Manager, you will lead 18 dedicated employees (laboratory technicians and process scientists) responsible for microbiological analysis of  environmental monitoring and water samples. You will play a key role in developing your team, continuously improving performance, and delivering excellent results.

This team is one of two shift-based teams that function as a one unit, working closely together—just as their leaders will. You will be part of an effective management team that collaborates closely and shares responsibility for the department’s overall development.

Your key responsibilities

  • Set clear objectives and performance targets for your team.
  • Ensure the achievement of strategical goals and key business targets.
  • Oversee daily operations while planning long-term resource and process management.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and compliance for both products and processes.
  • Lead with a LEAN mindset, driving continuous improvement.
  • Develop plans and targets with your team to ensure future stability and efficiency.
  • Foster a positive and resilient team culture to ensure timely and high-quality customer deliveries.
  • Support and develop your team by coaching, training, and enhancing competencies to meet future demands.

Additionally, you will navigate a large stakeholder landscape and play a central role in prioritizing projects and analyses while driving process improvements and development.

 

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two years of proven leadership experience.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical production and/or laboratory processes.
  • Knowledge of LEAN leadership principles.
  • The ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities frequently shift.
  • Familiarity with GMP-regulated production and quality control (QC) processes (an advantage but not required).

As a leader, you have strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills. With a proactive and innovative mindset, you take initiative and serve as a role model. You also possess strong analytical skills, with a focus on systematic problem-solving and data-driven decision-making.

 

About the Department

The Microbiology Laboratory in M2, Kalundborg, consists of approximately 90 skilled employees divided into five teams. We are responsible for all operational analyses supporting the production facilities we serve. Our laboratory plays a critical role in supporting production areas, and we ensure this through close collaboration across the Kalundborg site—both in production and within other laboratories.
