Associate Manager for Automation, Equipment & IT and Biophysics Support

Then join us as our new Associate Manager to drive a team of Chemists and Laboratory Technicians at Novo Nordisk's Diabetes API Manufacturing Development (MDev), Analytical support laboratory in Kalundborg.


The position
As an Associate Manager you will lead the team and jungle the many different assignments gathered in the team (IT, equipment, automation & biophysical support), which provides support to site QC and Manufacturing Development. You will be part of the Management group consisting of 8 people, which, besides you, include three Associate Managers, a CVP Quality Coordinator, a LEAN Coordinator, a Secretary, and the department manager.


Key responsibilities would include:

  • Providing the team with the best possible conditions so that they succeed with the tasks they have at hand
  • Ensuring work environment of continuous improvements with a strong focus on automation and digitalisation of processes and systems
  • Prioritising the tasks in the team, establishing optimal allocation of resources, and taking relevant steps to develop both the team and the department continuously
  • Setting good examples and leading the way to ensure that your employees obtain the right behaviour and achieve the targets

To succeed, you focus on creating a work environment that fosters job enthusiasm, and you match the requests and capabilities of your team. Finally, you seek to establish good collaboration with your stakeholders within Diabetes API and outside.

 

Qualifications

  •  You have solid managerial experience from a similar role in a manufacturing company, which has given you, insight into GMP, ISO9001 and LEAN
  • Your professional experience is supplemented with a degree within one of the Natural Sciences disciplines, experience with biophysical analyses and a solid understanding or interest in IT would be considered an asset
  • You have a keen eye for optimising processes as well as improving your team's working conditions
  • You are fluent in English both written and spoken, Danish language skills would be considered an advantage rather than a requirement

 

On a personal level, you have a goal-oriented mindset, determination and the skills to meet the ambitious targets. Moreover, you have strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and an inspiring and engaging behaviour which demonstrates that you take an interest in your employees' well-being. Last but not least, it is important that you thrive in a changing environment and know how to motivate your employees during changes. 

 

About the department
The department is responsible for providing analytical support to MDev's optimisation projects, as well as supporting process and analytical development for new products from fermentation to purified API. The department consists of 65 colleagues organized in four teams with responsibility within chemical, biochemical and biophysical analysis. 
The team consists of 15 dedicated chemists and laboratory technicians, who are responsible for implementation and maintenance of laboratory computerised systems in the department and biophysical method development and support. In addition, the team is also responsible for development of analytical technology to enable real time process control in the production (in-line, on-line & at line).
