Advanced Laboratory Technician for PAT Team in API MSAT

Category:  Manufacturing
Location:

Kalundborg, Region Zealand, DK

Are you passionate about cutting-edge analytical technologies and eager to contribute to the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing? Do you enjoy hands-on laboratory work, solving technical challenges, and translating scientific insights into practical solutions? Join our Process Analytical Technology (PAT) team and play a vital role in developing innovative spectroscopic solutions that support the next generation of manufacturing processes.

Your new role

As an Advanced Laboratory Technician in the PAT team, you will become an integral part of a highly specialised environment focused on developing and implementing Process Analytical Technology solutions across API manufacturing. Working closely with scientists, engineers, and fellow laboratory technicians, you will help mature analytical technologies from laboratory and pilot scale through to manufacturing implementation.

In this role, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and execute experimental activities, including sample preparation and spectroscopic analyses using techniques such as NIR, Raman, FT-IR, UV, and fluorescence.
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and qualify a diverse portfolio of analytical instruments to ensure reliable and high-quality results.
  • Support the evaluation, testing, and implementation of new PAT technologies and laboratory equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on development projects, process improvements, and technology transfers.
  • Contribute to the continued development and operation of the PAT laboratory, ensuring robust solutions that are ready for manufacturing environments.

Your work will primarily be laboratory based, with a strong focus on experimentation, analytical instrumentation, and method development. You will have significant ownership of your activities and be encouraged to take initiative, challenge existing approaches, and help shape future PAT capabilities within Novo Nordisk.

Your new department

You will join the Technology & Process Facilities (TPF) department within API Manufacturing Science and Technology (MSAT), part of Global Manufacturing & Supply.

The PAT team is responsible for developing and maintaining Process Analytical Technology applications across API manufacturing sites. Our work brings together analytical chemistry, instrumentation, chemometrics, data management, and process integration to enable real-time process understanding and control.

The team is primarily located in Kalundborg, with colleagues based in Gentofte, and operates in a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and innovation are highly valued. We support both development activities and manufacturing operations, making our work diverse, dynamic, and highly impactful.

As part of the team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of technologies, projects, and stakeholders while helping drive improvements that support Novo Nordisk's ability to deliver medicines to patients worldwide.

Your skills and qualifications

We are looking for a proactive and independent Laboratory Technician who thrives in a dynamic environment and is motivated by both scientific exploration and practical implementation.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • An education as a Laboratory Technician (Laborant) or a similar technical or scientific qualification.
  • Experience performing spectroscopic analyses, such as NIR, Raman, FT-IR, UV, fluorescence, or related analytical techniques.
  • Experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and qualifying analytical instruments.
  • Experience with laboratory-based development work, experimental planning, and data handling.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.

It would be considered an advantage if you also have experience with PAT, GMP-regulated environments, cLEAN®, or chemometric principles.

As a person, you are curious, adaptable, and solution oriented. You enjoy taking ownership of your work and are comfortable navigating changing priorities and varying quality requirements across development and manufacturing environments. You naturally build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including manufacturing teams, QA/QC functions, scientists, engineers, technicians, vendors, and facility specialists.
