Do you enjoy hands‑on lab work in organic or polymer chemistry and want to contribute to upscaling and process development? Join Novo Nordisk Pharmatech as a Laboratory Technician in development and help turn lab experiments into scalable solutions. Learn more and apply today.

You will work from Køge, with the occasional opportunity to work from home.

This is a temporary role (12 months), to cover a maternity leave.

Your new role

As a Laboratory Technician, Development, you will support R&D by executing advanced laboratory work that enables scale‑up and process development for new products. You will combine hands‑on experimentation in organic and/or polymer chemistry with analytical testing, equipment upkeep and clear documentation to ensure robust data, compliant operations and continuous improvement across the lab environment.

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Execute advanced laboratory experiments and upscaling activities (organic and/or polymer chemistry), documenting results and reviewing raw data to support technical reports.
  • Run, calibrate and maintain laboratory and analytical equipment, ensuring safe, regulatory‑compliant operation and availability for R&D use.
  • Maintain an organized lab environment: manage inventories, supplies and administrative tasks related to equipment and vendor coordination.
  • Support NNPR R&D initiatives by aligning daily work with department strategy, quality standards and Novo Nordisk core values.

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Laboratory technician qualification (or equivalent) with practical experience in a chemistry lab.
  • Experience in laboratory development work and upscaling experiments in organic chemistry and/or polymer chemistry.
  • Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory, while fluency in Danish will be a plus.
  • Experience from the pharmaceutical industry and strong documentation practices is an advantage, as well as GMP experience.

You are independent, flexible and curious — able to plan your day, adapt to shifting priorities and collaborate effectively with technicians and scientists. You bring attention to detail, are strong in communication, and have a learning mindset; you take ownership of experiments and equipment, pursue continuous improvement, and align your work with safety, quality and the NNWay values.

Your new department

The Development department at Novo Nordisk Pharmatech in Køge comprises 26 dedicated employees across two teams. As a Laboratory Technician, you will be part of a team of 11 laboratory technicians and scientists, focusing on developing and supplying novel materials for therapeutic manufacturing in the biopharmaceutical industry.

We strive to improve the way we do things in a helpful and pleasant working environment. We value good team spirit which is essential to have an inspiring working environment, where we can be creative and grow as individuals, all while ensuring a good work-life balance.
