We’re looking for a Field Application Specialist to become a strategic technical partner to our customers and commercial teams. In this role, you will help shape how leading biopharmaceutical companies adopt and apply our recombinant insulin and enzyme technologies, enabling successful implementation while contributing directly to the growth of our business.

The Position
As our Field Application Specialist, you will be a key contributor to Novo Nordisk Pharmatech’s commercial success across Europe and APAC. Acting as the scientific voice in customer engagements, you will combine technical excellence with commercial insight to strengthen strategic customer relationships, accelerate product adoption, and translate customer needs into opportunities for innovation.
Rather than simply supporting existing applications, you will help define future opportunities by connecting customer insights, market trends and scientific knowledge across the organisation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Partner with Account Managers to develop strategic customer opportunities and contribute to sustainable business growth.
- Build trusted scientific relationships with key decision-makers across customer organisations, becoming a valued technical advisor throughout the customer journey.
- Lead technical customer engagements, including application development, product evaluations, troubleshooting and implementation of our insulin and enzyme solutions.
- Design and oversee customer testing programmes that demonstrate product performance and strengthen customers’ business cases.
- Support successful product launches by developing compelling technical value propositions and enabling customer adoption.
- Generate market and customer insights that influence commercial priorities, product development and innovation initiatives.
- Represent customer perspectives internally, working closely with Strategic Marketing, Product Management, Commercial Excellence and R&D.
- Develop scientific communication materials, application notes and technical content that strengthen our market positioning.
- Share knowledge through technical training, conference presentations and customer workshops.
The role requires travel across regions (approximately 30 days annually) and offers the opportunity to engage with leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you combine scientific credibility with commercial curiosity and a genuine passion for building lasting customer partnerships.
We imagine you have:
- A Master’s degree or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in a Field Application Specialist, Application Scientist or comparable customer-facing technical role within biotechnology or the pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience supporting biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes or pharmaceutical ingredients.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and experience translating technical complexity into customer value.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence both technical and commercial audiences.

About the Department
Ready to join and help shape the future growth of Novo Nordisk Pharmatech? You will be part of the Strategic Marketing team within the Sales & Marketing area. We are responsible for leading the in-market product portfolio and launching new innovative products in close collaboration with Sales, Customer Support, Commercial Excellence, and Launch Office. Our team is dedicated to identifying trends and opportunities in the industry, collecting and analyzing data to make sound business and strategic recommendations. We work together with other departments across the organization to achieve our goals.

Salary and benefits
Salary: For this role, the annual base salary ranges from DKK 650.960 to 956.860.00, depending on your experience and competencies.
Incentives and benefits: The package may include short- and/or long-term incentives as well as additional employee benefits, aligned with the position level, location, and market benchmarks.
