Your new role

As a Senior Market Access & Pricing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing pricing and reimbursement strategies that ensure sustainable access to Novo Nordisk products across South Africa. You will play a central role in shaping payer value propositions, supporting health economic modelling, and navigating a rapidly evolving reimbursement landscape.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of pricing, policy, clinical value, and payer decision-making while collaborating closely with colleagues across Medical, Marketing, Sales, Finance.

Your primary work tasks will be:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive market access strategies for your therapeutic area. Integrate pricing, reimbursement, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), and payer engagement to maximise uptake.
  • Align strategies with lifecycle management and portfolio goals. Conduct pricing analysis, including qualitative and quantitative research.
  •  Assess reimbursement trends and their implications for access. Lead pricing business cases for new indications and launches.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure clear articulation of product value. Develop compelling payer value propositions tailored to South Africa’s system. Engage with private payers, public funders, tender bodies, and HTA stakeholders.
  • Partner with HEOR teams to design, adapt, or interpret health economic models. Support evidence generation aligned with payer needs and decision criteria. Stay updated on evolving reimbursement policies, HTA developments, and IRP dynamics. Anticipate changes and recommend proactive strategies to maintain access.

 

Your skills and qualifications

We’re seeking candidates who fulfil the following prerequisites:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Health Economics, Health Policy or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in market access, pricing, HEOR or reimbursement within pharma or healthcare.
  • Strong understanding of payer systems, HTA processes and reimbursement frameworks.
  • Experience developing pricing strategies, conducting pricing research, or supporting HE modelling.
  • Public sector experience (EML, tenders, state procurement).
  • Exposure to international reference pricing or currency-impact monitoring.
  • Background in pharmaceutical policy, HEOR or pricing consulting.
