About the department
Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare company celebrating 100 years of innovation in diabetes care. As a Medical advisor, you will be working for the GLP-1 and Obesity Business in Vietnam and you will be involved in the product launch process, from the planning stage.

 

The position
This position will report to the Clinical, Medical, Regulatory and Quality (CMRQ) Director and be a member of the affiliate CMR team. As a Medical Advisor, you will plan and execute the local medical strategy to develop the GLP-1 and Obesity therapy areas. You will be instrumental in the identification and segmentation of KOLs relevant to the GLP-1 and Obesity therapy areas and in the development of engagement plans, including obtaining expert advice to guide local decisions and strategy. 
The nature and scope of main accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage medical activities of the department within the general strategy, principles and in compliance with the ethical rules.
  • You will act as a scientific ambassador for Novo Nordisk, ensuring that the profile of the company remains high amongst stakeholders, such as opinion leaders, doctors, patients, pharmacists, associations etc., by developing and maintaining a close rapport, providing them with medical help whenever required, and answering medical queries related to products raised by doctors, field staff and other internal/external customers.
  • Educate and train the field and commercial colleagues to sharpen and implement product positioning and strategies. You will foresee and proactively address potential scientific challenges and ensure that external communications conform to regulatory laws and directions.
  • Preparation of products dossiers and technical reports in collaboration with Market Access/External Affairs. You will be engaged in identifying and developing relevant publications/content, and you will facilitate new product launches with close cross-functional collaboration.
  • Contribute to the generation of new data relevant to product/portfolio assigned; identify and critically evaluate new data and use the data for effective communication purposes. You will also look after the Clinical activities as a local therapeutic area expert.

 
Qualifications

  • You are a Medical Doctor (MD license) with a minimum of 2-3 years of Global MNC experience in Medical Affairs especially product launch & planning experience would be nice to have.
  • You have strategic mindset to think beyond marketing strategies and see the broad picture with business mindset. You have a high level of proactiveness and an in-depth knowledge of medical affairs role in the pharmaceutical industry. You can efficiently communicate complicated scientific data and are able to work cross-functionally. You are driven, can take initiative, and are agile in actions.
  • You are fluent in both written and spoken Vietnamese and English, and your personality is aligned with our Novo Nordisk Way.
  • Role requires nationwide field visits/travel.
