Your new role
Novo Nordisk Vietnam is entering an exciting era within Obesity in Diabetes, and as Head of Business Development & Customer Engagement, you will play a key role in shaping the market for new launches and existing brands. You will be responsible Key responsibilities of the function include, but are not limited to:


Digital Health, Partnerships, Business Development and Strategy

  • Work closely across cross-functional teams to identify, pilot, and integrate digital health and closed-loop partnerships to enhance patient journeys, particularly in obesity and diabetes.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities, crafting and assessing go-to-market strategies for success.
  • Use ROI analysis and market insights to guide smart and data-driven investment decisions.
  • Champion and facilitate comprehensive cross-functional strategic planning processes from strategy to execution.
  • Work in close collaboration with Marketing, Commercial, Medical, and Business Intelligence teams to ensure strategic alignment across the organization.
    Customer Engagement Transformation.
  • Lead transformative initiatives to advance customer engagement, utilizing data-driven insights and advanced CRM tools.
  • Expand and optimize omnichannel customer engagement (OCE) capabilities across Vietnam and target therapy areas, delivering consistent and high-impact experiences.
  • Navigate Novo Nordisk into consumer-driven therapy areas, like obesity, working together across functions and partners on end-to-end activation campaigns, ensuring elevated engagement and measurable outcomes.

Omnichannel Experience & Innovation

  • Championing the development and execution of robust digital marketing strategies that drive brand growth and awareness.
  • Design, implement, and continually refine omnichannel customer experiences—including digital, remote, and in-person touchpoints—to optimize engagement throughout the customer journey using Novo Nordisk or 3rd party-channels.
  • Conduct deep analysis of target consumer and patient segments, leveraging insights around demographics, behaviors, needs, and digital readiness to inform personalized strategies.

Forecasting & Commercial Excellence

  • Drive accurate forecasting and market potential assessments, leveraging existing data sources and integrating feedback loops to continuously improve commercial outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Commercial, Market Access, Finance & Operations teams to ensure unified commercial strategies, seamless pricing and tender processes, and robust management of key documentation.

Insight-Driven Decision Support

  • Deliver actionable insights to support product launches, brand initiatives, planning, and company investments through advanced market analysis and business case development.
  • Create and manage interactive dashboards and market mapping tools, providing real-time data to support strategic decision-making across the business.

Sales Force Effectiveness & Incentives

  • Oversee the design and monitoring of sales incentives, driving segmentation and commercial effectiveness projects that inspire high performance and motivation among field teams.
  • Enhance sales force effectiveness by spearheading segmentation, building capabilities, and leading change management initiatives.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to ensure effective and optimized deployment of frontline across Vietnam to support strategic goals .

This role reports directly to the General Manager and is based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Business Development & Customer Engagement department is a dynamic and collaborative team focused on driving business growth and fostering customer relationships. Your skills & qualifications
We’re looking for a Head of Business Development & Customer Engagement, who will appreciate working in a high-paced, dynamic environment. You will bring with you:

  • Master’s or university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Experience as a people manager with a track record in team leadership, motivation, and developing people.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of commercial management experience, ideally within a multinational company. Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences is required with relevant exposure to multiple industries as an advantage.
  • Demonstrated leadership in business development, commercial excellence, digital marketing, or customer engagement, preferably within life sciences or pharma sectors.
  • Advanced commercial acumen and firsthand expertise in omnichannel engagement, including both digital and field-based CRM platforms such as Viva Engage or Sales Force.
  • Experience in consumer activation campaigns and engagement through data-driven, analytics-informed strategies.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales force effectiveness, capability building, project management, and change management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to thrive in cross-functional, international teams.
