About the department

The GLP-1 & Obesity Business Unit Director will oversee both the Marketing and Sales of GLP-1 within Vietnam. The position
As a Business Unit Director, you will oversee the development and implementation of the local Obesity strategy and accelerate our franchise to establish the future value of this portfolio in Vietnam. You will collaborate with the Business Area Southeast Asia (BASEA) Commercial Affairs and Strategy team, while also working collaboratively at the local level to ensure that all stakeholder and customer needs and perspectives are considered. Local plans and tactics will be prioritized to achieve the desired goals. This role will be an integral member of the leadership team, role modeling the Novo Nordisk Way and collaborating effectively across functions to drive Novo Nordisk Vietnam's mid- to long-term strategy. You will keep patients and customers at the forefront, demonstrate a growth mindset, strive for ambitious results, drive accountability, and foster collaboration at all levels. You will also be passionate about developing your team of direct reports by setting annual objectives, providing coaching, offering recognition, and supporting their career development.
- P&L responsibility for existing and future Obesity portfolio and manage life-cycle management of obesity portfolio, including best-in-class pre-launch and launch of new products.
- Leads short to mid-term (1-5 years) obesity therapy area development together with relevant cross-functions. Oversee disease awareness and patient activation initiatives to support patients with obesity to access the right expertise and treatment.
- Pursue partnerships, new business and customer engagement models, through digital and traditional channels to best serve obesity care delivery across the country.
- Develop and implement both strategic and tactical local plans in alignment with Global and Regional directions.
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns for Obesity brands to deliver both Sales & Marketing objectives as defined in Anchor Budget (AB).
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Medical, Business Administration or similar, preferably a Postgraduate degree.
- Combined experience of +10 years across sales, marketing, or business development is a must. Blended experiences across global pharma (ethical/Rx) and Consumer Healthcare (e.g. OTC or Consumer goods) experience is a plus
- Minimum 5 years of people management responsibility with a proven track record of managing high performing teams
- Experience and a proven track record in therapy areas requiring product launch and market development are very important, together with experiences in digital customer acquisition strategies and campaigns
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, Ability to take initiative and to work independently are expected in addition to the high level of fluency in both written and spoken English and Vietnamese.
