Senior Product Development Engineer

Are you interested in working with needle and medical device solutions in a collaborative setting? We seek an experienced engineer for Hjørring to support life cycle management and development of new devices and platforms to meet growing innovation needs.
Your new role
As Senior Product Development Engineer (PDE) within needle and FlexPen development you will be part of a great team and play a key role in both maintaining existing products and contributing to the development of new device platforms.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Lead Life Cycle Management (LCM) and product development for needle and medical devices
- Oversee system and risk management, perform assessments, and update specifications
- Prepare and review technical documentation, support material selection, and ensure production readiness
- Provide technical leadership through cross-functional collaboration and expertise
- Operate independently as a satellite engineer, addressing issues proactively and seeking support when necessary
- Audit and submission support
The main office is located at site NMN in Hjørring, and regular trips to site Hillerød will be required.
Your new department
You will join Drug Delivery Innovation (DDI), a new area within the global CMC & PS organization and located in Hjørring (satelite). You will join a team of eleven engineers four mechanical engineers and seven PDEs. The team is divided in two areas FlexPen & Needles, where the needle unit, which you will be joining, is in Hjørring, and the FlexPen device unit in Hillerød. The needle team includes three PDEs at different seniority levels. The overall team works closely together and collaborates extensively with stakeholders across Novo Nordisk. Due to the structure and setup, strong collaboration skills and a good personal fit are essential for success in the role.
Your skills and qualifications
To succeed in this role, you are expected to bring a solid technical foundation combined with a high degree of independence.
We are seeking candidates who have:
- A master’s degree within mechanical engineering, chemical engineering or similar
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar technical role, ideally within product development of medical devices
- Strong technical understanding, including the ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
- A broad engineering profile, combining systems-level understanding with basic mechanical insight
- Strong adaptability and ability to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment
- Fluency in both written and spoken English
Experience from a regulated industry such as pharma and development of medical devices is an advantage. Fluency in Danish is a plus, as the primary working language in the office is Danish.
On a personal level, you are self-driven, structured, and comfortable working with limited day-to-day supervision. You can prioritise your tasks, manage stakeholders effectively, and contribute positively to a close-knit local team environment as well as to the overall team.
