QC Chemist (12 month Maternity Cover)

Category:  Manufacturing
Location:

Hillerød, Capital Region of Denmark, DK

Are you looking to kick start or further develop your career in Quality Control within a leading global healthcare company? We are looking for a QC Chemist to strengthen and support our QC activities on the ICP platform and ultimately provide medicines to people living with chronic diseases throughout the world.

Your new role

As a QC Chemist in our ICP team, you will be gradually onboarded to our systems, workflows and analytical platforms, taking on increasing responsibility as you develop in the role.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and approving analytical results using ICP‑MS and ICP‑OES
  • Contributing to routine testing and providing analytical support to QC activities
  • Maintaining analytical equipment to ensure reliable and compliant operations
  • Supporting improvements of laboratory processes and ways of working
  • Coordinating maintenance activities for the ICP laboratory and facilities, depending on experience

The role is well suited for newly graduated candidates as well as those with prior but limited QC experience, who are motivated to learn and grow in a GMP‑regulated environment.

Your new department

You will join the ICP team within Analytical Development, part of Global Manufacturing Supply, located in Hillerød. The team consists of around 10 chemists and laboratory technicians and serves as a Center of Excellence for the ICP platform at Novo Nordisk. We are responsible for analysis of elemental impurities, analytical support and release testing of raw materials and excipients, and we collaborate closely with development, production, QC, QA and Novo Nordisk sites worldwide.

Your skills and qualifications

We imagine that you bring the following qualifications and mindset:

  • A degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Engineering or another relevant natural science discipline
  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry, either theoretical and/or practical
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • A quality‑focused mindset with an interest in GMP‑regulated work
  • Curiosity and an interest in working with complex analytical equipment

Experience with ICP techniques or from a GMP environment is considered an advantage, but not a requirement. You are structured, detail‑oriented, enjoy working collaboratively and share ideas, while contributing to a positive working environment. Furthermore, you are curious and motivated to learn, and you do not mind asking questions when needed or to challenge current way of working.
