Would you like to play a pivotal role in maintaining and troubleshooting advanced robotic systems within a high-regulation environment? Apply today for a life-changing career!
We are looking for an experienced hands-on engineer to take responsibility for maintaining and troubleshooting robots within our Downstream processing. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of robotic systems in a highly regulated environment. Once completed, the facility will employ approximately 350 colleagues and feature highly automated and state-of-the-art technologies for new processes and products.
The position
As an Engineering Responsible (ER) you will join the project at an exciting time. We have finalized facility and equipment design and most factory acceptance testing (FAT) in close collaboration with Suppliers and our engineering partners. On site, we have started to install process equipment, planning validation as well as all activities required for operational readiness.
Your key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including downstream colleagues, engineering partners, specialists from other disciplines (automation, upstream, utility, logistics), and quality departments.
- Review and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT). Develop and execute protocols for on-site verification of equipment and validation tests.
- Prepare the facility for operation by creating SOPs and training procedures with operators. Ensure optimal performance and handle re-qualifications, deviations, and compliance issues once the facility is operational.
- Troubleshoot and fix operational issues promptly, conduct basic programming, calibrations, and adjustments to maintain efficiency.
- Serve as the main contact for operators during robotic breakdowns, malfunctions, or technical issues and provide swift resolutions.
In our Downstream project team, we are currently 15 engineers with different backgrounds, experience level and nationalities working together to establish two purification lines.
In this position, you will work in collaboration with a wide network of stakeholders. This will include the Work Package Owner (WPO), Operational Responsibles (OR), local production specialists, IT/Automation specialists, other Engineering Responsibles, operators as well as engineering partners.
Some limited travel activities must be expected.
Qualifications
As a professional, you like to work independently, take initiative, and have a forward-thinking outlook. As someone who enjoys collaborating, learning, and sharing information with others, you are driven by achieving great results together with colleagues.
To succeed in this role, you have:
- An academic degree within mechanical, electrical, or automation engineering.
- Proven experience in handling, maintaining, and operating industrial robots, preferably in a manufacturing or automated production setting.
- Hands-on expertise in robot troubleshooting, error handling, and basic reprogramming.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
- Full professional proficiency in English.
It is considered an advantage if you have some understanding of PLC systems and automation control. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is beneficial but not mandatory for the right candidate.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills and a positive mindset are essential in this role, making it easier to interact effectively with stakeholders across the organization. Furthermore, you possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under time-sensitive conditions.
