Primary Packaging R&D needs new innovative developers to support the growing portfolio

The world is changing fast, and so are we. Around 366 million people depend on our products, which creates a great demand for development of new primary packaging systems for the benefit of our patients and planet and we need you on our journey!

Do you want to drive the development and selection of new primary packaging solutions for our next generation pre-filled combination products or contribute to developing new materials supporting the world's circular economy? Then you might be the new primary packaging developer we are looking for.

The position

As Primary Packaging developer, you will have the main responsibility of driving the development of suitable primary packaging solutions to Novo Nordisk medical drug projects. We are looking for three developers and your responsibility will be:

  • Development of primary packaging systems, such as syringes/vials from ideation phase to drug product launch.
  • Documenting the design requirements, safety risk management and mitigations, testing and documentation of these; enabling us to write CTA and NDA.
  • Ensuring suitable design, material, technical performance, processability and new supply chains of the packaging systems.
  • You will scout the market and meet with suppliers to identify and refine packaging solutions.
  • Coordinate own workstream with stakeholders and deliver on time

You will work closely with colleagues in drug and device R&D, Production and Supply Chain to assent to the requirements. In general, the assignments carried out by the department are diverse as we deliver to all parts of Novo Nordisk. This gives a variety of challenges, therefore strong collaboration with your colleagues is an essential key to success.

Qualifications

  • You hold an MSc/BSc degree in Engineering or another relevant field within the Natural Sciences
  • You have experience within the area of product development, preferably primary packaging for pharmaceutical products or medical devices
  • You have either a few years of experience or are very skilled/experienced to a specialist level
  • You must be fluent in written and spoken English

It would be considered an advantage if you have:

  • Knowledge about pre-filled syringes as well as other pharma injectable packaging systems
  • Experience with CTA/NDA, requirement/system engineering, safety risk management and GMP material documentation needed in the pharmaceutical business
  • Tolerance chain calculation
  • CAD drawing skills

As a person, you are motivated by working in a creative environment identifying solutions to design challenges. You thrive in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and tasks. You take pride in delivering on your milestones, and you motivate your colleagues with a positive attitude. You work well independently, although it also motivates you to cooperate with colleagues and stakeholders across functions and departments.
