The Position
As an Assembly Process Specialist, you will act as Process Owner, focused on a specific device, being responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing assembly processes to ensure efficient and high-quality production. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and production, to identify opportunities for process improvements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Lead design for assembly activities, collaborating closely with the engineering team to integrate assembly considerations into the design phase, ensuring efficient and cost-effective product assembly
- Lead the design and implementation of new assembly lines (both low and high volume) within the global network for a specific device, ensuring the equipment is designed and build in compliance with internal and external requirements
- Serve as the technical leader in a team of process engineers
- Analyze and optimize existing assembly processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues and implement process improvements.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates who fulfil the following prerequisites:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably with mechanical, electrical, mechatronic engineering or similar
- 7+ years of experience with production equipment in the pharmaceutical industry and strong knowledge of GMP
- Experience with technical project management within assembly process development and optimization in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of assembly techniques, tools, and equipment
- Proficient in the use of digital engineering tools.
As a person you are proactive and able to work independently and as part of a team. You thrive in a changing environment and have excellent problem-solving skills. Furthermore, you have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
About the department
FPMSAT is responsible for the manufacturing development of all devices and packaging-related processes. We explore new technologies, including robotics, for future production and operate a production unit for clinical production and process optimisation.
