Advanced Process Engineering Professional for state-of-the-art API facility

Category:  Engineering & Technical
Location:

Hillerød, Capital Region of Denmark, DK

Are you passionate about working with advanced process equipment and robotics in a highly automated production environment? Join one of Novo Nordisk’s largest API expansion projects and play a key role in establishing and supporting a state-of-the-art facility. This is your opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies while contributing to life-changing treatments.

Your new role
As an Advanced Process Engineering Professional within the Downstream Support Team, you will take on a hands-on role focused on robotics and automated process equipment in a highly regulated production environment. You will join the project during a pivotal phase where equipment installation, testing, and operational readiness activities are progressing rapidly.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring stable and reliable operation of robotic systems through hands-on troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimisation
  • Supporting Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, verification and validation activities in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Preparing maintenance strategies, SOPs, and training materials to support operational readiness
  • Acting as the key point of contact for operators during equipment issues, ensuring fast resolution and minimal production downtime
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance performance and robustness of production systems

As the project transitions into full operations, you will play an important role in maintaining production stability, supporting re-qualification activities, managing deviations, and ensuring compliance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the equipment and thrives in solving technical challenges in real time, rather than focusing solely on programming tasks.

Your new department
You will become part of the Downstream Support Team within a major API expansion project in Hillerød. This investment represents one of Novo Nordisk’s most significant biotech projects, establishing a new highly automated facility designed to support a growing portfolio of products for people living with serious chronic diseases.

The team currently consists of engineers and process professionals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities working collaboratively to establish purification lines and ensure a smooth transition from project execution to operations. You will engage with a wide network of stakeholders, including engineering partners, automation specialists, production teams, and quality functions, in a dynamic and fast-paced project environment.

This is an environment where learning, collaboration, and ownership are key, and where you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on how the facility operates from day one.

Your skills and qualifications
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on engineer who is motivated by working close to advanced equipment and contributing to operational excellence in a complex production environment.

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • A relevant technical degree (e.g. robotics, automation, mechanical, or electrical engineering), or similar background
  • Hands-on experience with robotics or automated equipment in a production or manufacturing setting
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a structured and solution-oriented approach
  • A technical mindset with a clear interest in operational support and continuous improvement
  • Professional proficiency in English

Experience within the pharmaceutical industry is considered an advantage, but not a requirement. We place strong emphasis on mindset, curiosity, and your ability to quickly learn and adapt in a project environment.

As a person, you are self-driven and take ownership of your development. You thrive in a collaborative and matrix organisation, proactively seek knowledge, and enjoy working across disciplines to achieve shared goals. You are comfortable navigating a project environment where tasks evolve, and you are motivated by being close to operations and delivering tangible results.
