Your new role
As our new Medical Science Liaison, you’ll act as a bridge between cutting-edge science and clinical practice. You will:
- Build strong, science-driven partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Digital Opinion Leaders (DOLs), Payers, and other key healthcare stakeholders.
- Share expert knowledge and engage in high-level scientific dialogue across therapy areas including diabetes, cardiovascular, and obesity.
- Gather and communicate valuable field insights to shape Novo Nordisk’s strategy and enhance patient outcomes across East and Southern Africa.
- Support evidence generation initiatives, including Real-World Evidence (RWE) studies and clinical guideline development.
- Train internal teams, providing deep medical understanding and supporting impactful, compliant communication.
This is a field-based position that requires regular travel across Zimbabwe and East & Southern Africa to engage with healthcare professionals, attend scientific meetings, and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in the region.
Your new department
You will be part of the Medical Affairs team, which plays a critical role in bridging science and healthcare. Our team is responsible for driving scientific communication, providing medical education, and building strategic relationships with healthcare professionals and professional associations. We work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, where your contributions will directly impact our mission to improve patient outcomes. The role is based in Zimbabwe, where you will join a supportive and passionate team dedicated to making a difference.
Your skills & qualifications
You hold a Medical Degre, which is a requirement for this position, and bring a solid scientific foundation to everything you do. Experience or knowledge in diabetes and obesity therapy areas will be a strong advantage.
What you’ll bring:
- Good experience in a medical practice, clinical research, or health insurance organizations. Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.
- Demonstrable experience using CRM tools to capture, analyse, and generate insights relevant for decision-making.
- Knowledge and experience in clinical research, RWE methodology, investigator-sponsored studies, and local regulatory requirements are an advantage.
- The demonstrable use of omnichannel approaches for customer engagement is an advantage.
- Fluent in English. French and/or Portuguese proficiency is an advantage.
