Supply Chain Consultant
Høje-Taastrup, Capital Region of Denmark, DK
Are you motivated by improving how global supply chain planning works through technology, processes, and close collaboration? Would you like to translate business needs into planning solutions used across a global organization? Join us in Planning Solution Development and help create reliable, standardized solutions that support better planning and business outcomes.
Your new role
As a Supply Chain Professional in Planning Solution Development, you will help improve the systems and processes supporting global supply chain planning. You will work at the intersection of supply chain, business processes, and technology, translating user needs into practical system improvements and supporting their successful adoption.
You will gradually build subject matter expertise within selected planning solution areas and take ownership of their continued development. Working with colleagues, users, technical specialists, and implementation partners, you will help ensure that our planning solutions are well-designed, documented, available, and used as intended.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Gathering, analysing, and documenting business and user requirements, converting them into clear user stories and features
- Defining and maintaining the development backlog for selected planning solution areas
- Contributing to the detailed design of system solutions in collaboration with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and senior colleagues
- Supporting planning teams, end users, and Super Users in adopting standard planning solutions and using them as intended
- Representing Planning Solution Development in cross-functional projects and contributing supply chain, process, and systems knowledge
- Maintaining accurate and accessible documentation of system solutions, processes, and governance
- Acting as third-level support for selected solution areas, identifying potential issues early and coordinating their resolution
You will also identify opportunities to improve processes, roles and responsibilities, and data governance around the solutions. The position involves collaboration across business areas and geographies, and some international travel to planning organisations may be required.
Your new department
You will join Planning Solution Development, where we develop and maintain solutions supporting planning activities across Novo Nordisk. We work closely with colleagues in Global Supply Chain Planning, Planning Transformation, Enterprise IT, and other parts of the organisation that use our planning solutions.
The department operates in a global and cross-functional environment, working with end users, Super Users, technology colleagues, solution providers, and implementation partners. You will become part of a collaborative team that values initiative, knowledge-sharing, and continuous improvement. Together, we challenge existing ways of working and develop standard solutions that can create value across sites and organisational areas.
Your skills and qualifications
To succeed in this role, you combine an understanding of supply chain planning with an interest in digital solutions and process improvement. You are comfortable navigating different stakeholder perspectives and translating complex needs into structured and practical solutions.
We expect you to have:
- A master’s degree with relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree with at least three years of relevant experience, or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience
- Experience within supply chain management, supply chain planning, or a closely related area
- A good understanding of planning processes and an interest in supply chain IT solutions
- The ability to analyse requirements, identify interdependencies, and contribute to the design and implementation of planning improvements
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, enabling you to work effectively across functions, organisational levels, and cultures
- A proactive and structured approach, with the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and escalate when appropriate
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Experience with ERP systems or advanced planning solutions is an advantage. Experience with OMP or similar supply chain planning platforms would also be beneficial, but it is not a prerequisite.
As a person, you are curious, adaptable, and motivated by change. You enjoy generating alternatives, challenging assumptions, and turning complex issues into workable solutions. You contribute positively to the team while taking responsibility for moving your own deliverables forward.
