The Position
As a Strategy and Portfolio Lead, you will hold a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the SVP External Supply (ES) area, ensuring alignment with Novo Nordisk's long-term goals. This role demands a keen understanding of the broader business landscape, including the impact of political shifts and market trends, to navigate complexities and identify opportunities. You will oversee portfolio management, analyse industry developments, and deliver strategic counsel to senior leadership, empowering them to make informed decisions that drive innovation and sustained growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the annual refresh and review process of the SVP External Supply area strategy, collaborating with top management to align on long-term objectives.
- Monitor industry trends, PESTLE triggers, and internal enterprise risks, providing timely insights and recommendations to inform strategic decisions.
- Integrate relevant strategic insights into the Business Plan, proactively addressing internal and external triggers.
- Analyse and manage the ES Portfolio, maintaining a clear view of cross-interdependencies within and beyond the SVP External Supply area to mitigate risks effectively.
- Prepare and deliver sharp, insightful materials for top management presentations, highlighting portfolio development, risks, and opportunities.
This position requires a high level of independence, a strategic mindset, a go-do attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and stakeholders.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we imagine you:
- Hold master’s degree in business administration, Economics, Political Science, Strategic Management or a related field.
- Have extensive experience in strategy development or a related field, demonstrating a deep understanding of the discipline.
- Possess proven ability to work independently and lead cross-functional projects.
- Can drive Innovation and Strategic Change: Develop and implement innovative strategies to tackle complex challenges across social, economic, and scientific domains, leveraging advanced data analytics to forecast industry trends and inform decision-making.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English.

About the department
ES Portfolio & Strategy is a team within the department External Supply Business Development and Support. ES Portfolio and Strategy team is responsible for driving and overseeing the ES Transformation, deploying the newly launched ES Business Plan, and driving the ES Strategy development each year. This also includes portfolio management and prioritisation of strategic business initiatives across External Supply, encompassing all transformation related initiatives across the line.
