The position
You will be working in the Strategic Sourcing Inbound Materials and Services (SSIMS) team within the Product Supply division of Novo Nordisk. As a Senior Category Manager, you will work across our different areas of responsibility which involve air, sea, courier and road transportation tenders as well as warehousing solutions closely built together with a broad array of entities across Novo Nordisk. You will join our team in a transformational phase where you will have an influential role shaping our strategies and improving processes as well as delivering some of the most impressive logistics tenders globally.
You will be based in Denmark and work closely with global entities to source, negotiate and implement agreements with 3PLs and diverse logistics companies. You will visit some of our stakeholders and sites in Denmark but potentially also travel to some of our global locations.
Your main activities encompass:
- Cultivating supplier and stakeholder engagement to help maintaining a reliable distribution and warehousing network
- Building category strategies, showing best in class market awareness and displaying a short-, mid- and long-term roadmap and pipeline
- Managing key category tasks like contract administration, supplier coordination, and risks assessments, ensuring timely compliance with company guidelines
- Contributing to supplier relationship management, budget tracking, and risk reduction efforts, including participation in contract and pricing discussions
- Collaborating with project teams exploring new processes, technologies, and sourcing methods to support innovation in our operations
Your role also involves defining the scope of work for current and new warehousing needs in partnership with internal teams. This entails both temperature controlled, ambient, freeze, high security, and other attributes. As well sporadically involving sourcing greenfield or brownfield projects sporadically.
The office location is in Taastrup.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we imagine you:
- Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or another relevant area
- Demonstrate practical experience in strategic sourcing, strategy development, category management or procurement and supply chain management
- Have expertise running RFx processes, preferably having handled logistics tenders within a complex organisation
- Showcase strong communication, business acumen, and stakeholder management skills, effectively building solid relationships internally and externally, with suppliers
- Have a strong understanding of warehousing and ideally pharma logistics, coupled with project management experience
- Display proficiency in both spoken and written English
It would be considered as a strong advantage if you have experience working with 3PLs and have been exposed to Pharma, Logistics, or Consulting industries.

About the department
SSIMS is one of the central sourcing units in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, responsible for short- medium- and long-term strategic sourcing activities, which involves global identification and strategic management of suppliers for Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production sites.
You will be part of a diverse department that ensures global supply of logistical solutions. Joining our team, you will be surrounded by several experienced international Category Managers, allowing you to continue your development within the sourcing domain.
