We are looking for a Raw Materials Scientist to join Emerging Technologies in the Drug Product MSAT area to support formulation, development and quality of solid oral dose products.
Your new role
As a Raw Materials Scientist you will drive raw material and excipient-related science and activities in ET DP MSAT under high development pressure and strict project timelines. You will be scientifically responsible for allocated projects, support development and manufacturing stakeholders, and ensure robust data handling and compliance with GxP/ISO quality standards. You will also contribute to continuous improvement (cLEAN) initiatives and participate in cross-functional project groups that impact ET SDF Production.
Among your main responsibilities, you will:
- Lead scientific activities for assigned development projects.
- Plan, coordinate, execute and report experimental work.
- Act as Responsible Scientist for one or more development projects.
- Raw materials and formulation support: Provide expertise in excipients, raw materials and oral drug product formulation and development.
- Stability and analytical interface: Support drug product stability assessments and liaise with analytical development.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary project groups and prepare documentation for Health Authorities as required
- Proactively contribute to cLEAN/LEAN activities and drive simplification and rationalization of GMP-related procedures.

Your new department
Emerging Technologies in Novo Nordisk is responsible for handling both the oral drug product portfolio as well as incoming products and novel production platforms. Within Emerging Technologies, the MSAT LCM department secures process and product optimization of marketed products, as well as securing stability studies, process validations etc. are aligned with authority expectations. The department currently consists of 60 employees in five teams and is developing to prepare for new drug products.
You will join a highly skilled scientific team working on the formulation and process development of oral drug products, with responsibility to influence product quality and production performance. The role offers opportunities to spare with colleagues, lead projects, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that span departmental and organisational boundaries.
Your skills & qualifications
We're seeking candidates who fulfil the following prerequisites:
- You hold a PhD, Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- You have a strong interest in excipients/raw materials and processes.
- You possess good knowledge of drug development and analytical development; understanding of quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- You have the ability to overview complex problems and work with many different stakeholders
- You are able to prioritize tasks, communicate effectively with stakeholders and management, coach team members, and drive results with a self-starter attitude.
- You are fluent in English. Danish is an advantage.
