The position
We are looking for a Project Portfolio Manager who is motivated by improving our governance process and creating transparency and sound practices for project managers to follow. In this role you will not be running your own project, but rather providing support for investment projects across a broad portfolio focusing on governance, funding, reporting and coordination.
The investment projects we have in Emerging Technologies Expansions (ETX) range from the construction of new buildings to expand production, retrofits of existing buildings, purchase of new equipment, and other improvement projects. The key stakeholders are Project Managers, Project Owners and ET Governance forum, where all decisions related to investment projects for the area are taken in a systemic and transparent manner.
Other than being overall responsible for the investment portfolio, you will:
- Be responsible for maintaining the ET governance forum (agenda, presentations, booking meetings and process optimization)
- Challenge projects to ensure that all aspects are considered
- Coach, train and guide project managers across the organisation in upholding internal project governance processes
- Ensure alignment with central investment portfolio secretary and local project portfolio managers on ongoing investment projects
- Be a Project coordinator for supporting tasks for ETX and Project Management Office
Finally, together with the investment controller, you will follow up on budget forecasts and the overall investment spend.
Please note that due to the international nature of the role, some travelling might occur during the year.
This is a temporary role for a duration of 18 months to cover parental leave.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a great interest in streamlining processes and see every opportunity to improve them. You have a sharp eye on details and see yourself as an executer who gets the job done on time without compromising the quality in your deliverables. You enjoy the coordinator role and to have several balls in the air at the same time.
To succeed in this role, you:
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree within Finance, Business, Engineering or similar
- Have extensive experience in project coordination or project portfolio management
- Possess strong analytical and strategic skills
- Are proficient in English
It would be seen as an advantage if you have gained experience within a pharmaceutical or other highly regulated industry, as well as having have an understanding within construction projects for building facilities and purchase of major equipment.
On a personal level, you are curious, have a critical sense, and are able to collaborate with all levels of the organisation, using your excellent stakeholder engagement/management skills along with the ability to build trusting relationships at all levels while driving agendas in an independent fashion.
You are a skilled communicator and capable of making effective recommendations, as well as effectively present your findings through presentation material to be used by senior management.
About the department
You will be part of the Project Controlling & Governance (PCG), residing in the Emerging Technologies Expansions. The team consists of 3 dedicated colleagues located in Taastrup that are responsible for supporting major investment projects, within project controlling.
