Director, GMS Production Accounting & Compliance

Are you an experienced finance leader who thrives at the intersection of finance operations, people leadership, and driving optimisation of business processes? Can you create followership while driving continuous improvement in a complex global environment? Then this could be your opportunity to lead a critical finance function supporting Novo Nordisk’s manufacturing operations worldwide.

Your new role

As our new Director of GMS Production Accounting & Compliance, you will lead a highly experienced team responsible for production accounting, compliance, costing methodologies and financial processes supporting Novo Nordisk’s global manufacturing network.

Beyond ensuring financial integrity and operational excellence, you will play a key role in shaping the evolution of the function. Working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Global Business Services (GBS) in India, Corporate Finance and IT, you will identify opportunities to simplify processes, make better use of SAP S/4HANA, strengthen business partnerships and increase the use of digital solutions, automation and AI-enabled improvements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing a team of 8+ experienced professionals while fostering engagement, learning and continuous improvement.
  • Driving global network of production accountants across our global sites and SVP Areas. This includes ensuring governance of production accounting processes, costing methodologies, compliance activities and financial controls, including product costing, standard costing, month-end close, year-end close and involvement in budget/forecast processes.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on accounting, financial risk and manufacturing finance topics, including inventory-related risks such as expiry and scrap, provisions and audit matters.
  • Define and execute a digital roadmap with focus on simplification, SAPS/4HANA efficiency, automation and scalable reporting.
  • Building strong relationships across manufacturing sites, Global Business Services and Corporate Finance to ensure alignment and operational excellence.
  • Representing GMS Finance Operations & Governance in the GMS Finance Leadership Team (FLT), while also being part of the FO&G Management Team.

A key part of the role is creating the balance between maintaining a well-functioning operation and gradually evolving the way the organisation works. We envision that you will spend your first months connecting with the team and key stakeholders, learn the current state through concrete deliverables such as monthly closing activities and year-end close, and later use those insights to help define the future direction of the function.

Success in the role will be visible through stable and well-controlled core finance processes, strong stakeholder partnerships, continued high engagement of the team, tangible progress on the digital and improvement roadmap, and measurable simplification or automation of manual ways of working.
