We are looking for an experienced Cold Chain Specialist to join Global Compliance & Transport Control. In this strategic and highly visible role, you will drive the development of our global cold chain capabilities, lead digital transformation initiatives, and shape the future of temperature-controlled logistics across a complex international supply chain.

 

 

Your new role

As our Cold Chain Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert and strategic lead in cold chain technology and operations. You will define future cold chain solutions, establish global standards, and drive initiatives that enhance compliance, resilience, sustainability, and performance across our supply network.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across logistics, quality, digital, procurement, warehouses, distribution partners, and external technology providers to deliver innovative and compliant solutions at scale.

 

 

Your new department

You will join Global GDP Compliance & Transport Control, a global department that sets direction, standards, and governance for temperature-controlled logistics across Novo. The department defines global protocols, ensures continued audit and inspection readiness, and maintains validated, compliant transport solutions across regions in line with health authority requirements.

The department works closely with Global Logistics & Distribution departments, Quality, DD&IT, warehouses, distribution hubs, Sourcing and external partners to ensure compliant, resilient, and innovative cold chain solutions worldwide.

 

 

Your key responsibilities

You will:

  • Define and continuously evolve our global cold chain strategy and technology roadmap.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives across cold chain, including real-time monitoring, traceability platforms, and predictive risk management.
  • Establish and govern global standards for cold chain systems, monitoring technologies, data management, and validation requirements.
  • Drive temperature excursion prevention and risk mitigation strategies, supporting trending, proactive risk identification, and CAPA-driven improvement
  • Support inspections, audits, and regulatory interactions with documentation demonstrating compliance with GDP, GxP, and global quality standards.
  • Act as Product Owner for key cold chain digital solutions and contribute to prioritisation, roadmap development, and agile delivery.
  • Serve as System & Data Owner Delegate, ensuring systems remain compliant, controlled, and fit for purpose throughout their lifecycle.  

 

 

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed, you bring strategic thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to influence across complex global cold chain operations.

 

We expect you to have:

  • A Master's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, or a related technical discipline.
  • A strategic mindset combined with strong execution capabilities.
  • Experience driving global, cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders at all organisational levels.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in an international environment.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical cold chain logistics and temperature-controlled supply chains.
  • Expertise in GDP/GxP-regulated environments, including audits, inspections, validation, vendor qualification, and quality governance.
  • Interest in digital transformation, including monitoring technologies, automation, and data-driven supply chain solutions.
  • Experience with risk-based supply chain management, CAPA, deviation handling, and performance optimisation.

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600 to 1,091,600 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.


The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short‑term and/or long‑term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
