Cold Chain Specialist

Are you passionate about keeping temperature-sensitive medicines safe from factory to pa-tient? We are looking for a Cold Chain Specialist to shape our long-term cold chain technology strategy, drive digital transformation across the cold chain, and ensure future-proof regulatory compliance.

 

Your role

You will play a recognized global expert role, leading initiatives from strategy through implementation, and maintenance including:

  • Define and continuously evolve the long-term cold chain technology strategy
  • Lead global digital transformation across cold chain e.g., IoT, real-time monitoring, traceability platforms, alarm models, and excursion prevention tools
  • Establish global standards and governance for cold chain technology, including monitoring technologies, data formats, and system governance
  • Drive risk mitigation and temperature excursion prevention frameworks, supporting trending, proactive risk identification, and CAPA-driven improvement
  • Ensure alignment with DSCSA, WHO GDP, and internal quality standards, supporting audits, inspections, and regulatory interactions through robust process and technology documentation
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deploy and integrate solutions globally, including vendor qualification and supplier capability assessments

 

Your new department

You will join Global GDP Compliance & Transport Control, a global department that sets direc-tion, standards, and governance for temperature-controlled logistics across Novo Nordisk. The department defines global protocols, ensures continued audit and inspection readiness, and maintains validated, compliant transport solutions across regions in line with health authority requirements.

The department works closely with Global Logistics & Distribution departments, Quality, DD&IT, warehouses, distribution hubs, Sourcing and external partners to ensure compliant, resilient, and innovative cold chain solutions worldwide.

 

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, you bring strong technical expertise, strategic perspective, and the ability to influence across complex global environments.

We expect you to have:

  • A Master’s degree in engineering, supply chain, pharmaceutical sciences, quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Extensive experience within pharmaceutical cold chain logistics and temperature-controlled supply chains, including compliant infrastructure, digital platforms and supplier ecosystems
  • Demonstrated expertise in GDP / GxP environments, inspection readiness, audits, and governance
  • Proven track record in digital cold chain transformation (IoT, real-time monitoring, traceability, automation, predictive capabilities)
  • Solid experience establishing global standards and lifecycle governance (data formats, alarm thresholds, lifecycle management)
  • Strong application of risk-based cold chain management including excursion prevention, performance trending, deviation handling, root cause analysis, and CAPA
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional, global initiatives and establishing global standards and governance frameworks
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across global, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear direction for diverse audiences

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600 to 1,091,600 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.


The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short‑term and/or long‑term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
