In this role, you will define and drive Novo Nordisk’s long‑term cold chain technology strategy, combining digital innovation, regulatory excellence, and risk‑based design to safeguard life‑saving products worldwide. Your new role

As Cold Chain Specialist, you will act as a global subject‑matter expert and strategic driver within cold chain technology. You will work at the intersection of technology, quality, and logistics, influencing decisions across functions, regions, and senior leadership forums.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Defining and continuously evolving the global cold chain technology strategy, including future‑state roadmaps and decision material for senior stakeholders
  • Leading digital transformation initiatives such as real‑time monitoring, traceability platforms, alarm models, and excursion prevention capabilities
  • Establishing and governing global standards for cold chain systems, data, validation, and lifecycle management
  • Designing risk‑based frameworks to prevent temperature excursions and strengthen supply chain resilience
  • Ensuring future‑proof regulatory compliance across EU GDP, WHO GDP, DSCSA, and internal quality standards

 

You will also contribute to vendor selection, audits, inspections, and global governance forums, acting as a trusted advisor on cold chain system design and qualification principles.

 

 

Your new department

You will be joining Global GDP Compliance & Transport Control, a global department committed to establishing direction, standards, and governance for temperature‑controlled logistics throughout Novo Nordisk. Responsible for defining worldwide protocols, ensuring continual audit and inspection readiness, and upholding validated, compliant temperature‑controlled transport solutions across regions, in accordance with health authority regulations.

The department works closely with Global Logistics & Distribution departments, Quality, DD&IT, warehouses, distribution hubs, Sourcing and external partners to ensure compliant, resilient, and innovative cold chain solutions worldwide.

 

 

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, you bring strong technical depth, strategic perspective, and the ability to influence in complex, global environments.

 

We expect you to have:

 

  • A Master’s degree in engineering, supply chain, pharmaceutical sciences, quality, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Extensive experience within pharmaceutical cold chain logistics and temperature‑controlled supply chains, including compliant infrastructure and digital platforms
  • Strong expertise in GDP / GxP‑regulated environments, inspections, audits, validation, and vendor qualification
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional, global initiatives and establishing global standards and governance frameworks
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into clear direction for diverse audiences

Salary: For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 742,600 to 1,091,600 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.


The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short‑term and/or long‑term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
