Category Manager

Category:  Procurement
Location:

Høje-Taastrup, Capital Region of Denmark, DK

Do you want to make a real impact by driving renewable energy sourcing in a global healthcare company? This is your opportunity to lead sustainable energy procurement initiatives that support both our patients and our environmental ambitions.

Your new role

As Category Manager within the Energy Sourcing team, you will be responsible for the strategic procurement of renewable energy solutions, with a strong focus on Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and power projects across solar, wind and battery energy storage systems (BESS), including hybrid renewable energy solutions.

This is a hands‑on role where you take ownership of key energy sourcing activities, ensuring reliable and sustainable energy supply for Novo Nordisk sites worldwide.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving and implementing global sourcing strategies for PPAs, including ownership of day to day operational activities within the Energy Cluster
  • Leading energy‑related PPA tenders and negotiations with developers through RFQs and RFIs, ensuring professional, timely and service‑minded supplier dialogue
  • Managing accounting and documentation processes related to Novo Nordisk’s global Renewable Energy Certificates (EACs)
  • Performing PPA market and power sector analysis to support supplier negotiations and strategic decision‑making
  • Leading internal category forums and supplier meetings while maintaining category data, dashboards and insights in close collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Supporting contract lifecycle management for PPAs, including ongoing supplier performance follow‑up in close collaboration with internal stakeholders

Your new department

You will be part of Global Manufacturing & Supply, which covers the full value chain from drug and device development to marketed Novo Nordisk products. With more than 30,000 colleagues globally, the organisation carries a shared responsibility for scaling molecules, processes, devices and products to ensure supply of life‑saving medicines to patients worldwide.

You will join Global Direct Procurement within the Supply Chain area, where the Energy Cluster holds global responsibility for sourcing energy and utilities across all Novo Nordisk sites. The department is characterised by strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement. While you may support broader category management activities, your primary focus will be on energy and renewable sourcing initiatives critical to the business.

Your skills and qualifications

We are looking for a Category Manager with a strong background in renewable energy and procurement, combined with a structured and proactive working style. You will bring:

  • A relevant degree (MSc, MBA or similar) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or a related field, along with professional fluency in written and spoken English
  • 3–5 years of experience within PPA origination, renewable energy sourcing or a relevant consulting role in the power- or utility sector
  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities, including experience with complex data analysis related to energy markets
  • A hands‑on mindset with the ability to take ownership and drive tasks independently in a global stakeholder environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling effective collaboration across functions and with external partners
  • You are fluent in English, and knowledge of Danish is considered an advantage
