The position
We are looking for an Associate Manager for Project Controls to lead and manage a team of skilled professionals. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in providing timely and accurate financial insights to support the execution of a major investment project. You will also be a key member of our PMO management department, taking on the responsibility of day-to-day leadership for the Project Controls team.
Key Responisibilities:
- Develop and implement an integrated project controls framework for large-scale investment projects.
- Ensure alignment with the Novo Nordisk Project Execution Model and industry best practices.
- Provide reliable data and actionable insights to monitor project performance and support decision-making.
- Focus on key areas such as scheduling, cost management (estimation, budgeting, and tracking), and risk management.
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, including critical path analysis, milestone tracking, and resource allocation.
- Cost Management: Oversee cost estimation, budget development, and cost tracking throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor and control project expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate and manage them effectively. Regularly assess project risks and implement appropriate risk response plans.
- Performance Reporting: Generate regular reports on project performance, including progress updates, cost variances, and schedule deviations. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize project outcomes.
- Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with project stakeholders, including contractors, architects, engineers, and Novo Nordisk representatives. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration to drive project success.
The position is based in Odense.
Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you have:
- A master’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration.
- Proven people management experience in Project Controls, Large Project Management, or Finance, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Extensive experience in project controls for major investment projects, with roles such as planner, cost engineer, risk engineer, or similar, and a deep understanding of Project Controls disciplines.
- Significant experience managing complex projects, including project management responsibilities, preferably within the pharmaceutical or other regulated industries.
- Proficiency in project management software, such as Primavera P6 EPPM, OPC and Cost Management tools.
- Strong proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
You are a curious and detail-oriented individual with a structured approach to work. You excel at working independently while navigating a diverse stakeholder landscape. Your ability to stay organized enables you to maintain a high-level perspective without losing sight of the finer details. Additionally, you have a talent for simplifying complex issues and effectively communicating them to upper management.

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions, a newly established and growing area within Product Supply, Quality & IT (PSQIT). Our team is responsible for designing, planning, and building major fill & finish expansion projects across Novo Nordisk. We are dedicated to serving the needs of millions of patients by rethinking our fill & finish facilities with the use of modern technology.
