The position
As Associate Category Manager, you will play a crucial part in supporting our renewable energy procurement processes and supporting various energy-related projects. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external energy suppliers to drive efficient and cost-effective energy sourcing.
You key responsibilities include:
- Supporting more senior colleagues in building category and sub-category strategies in the global renewable energy space
- Taking ownership over day-to-day operational tasks within the Energy Cluster, creating and maintaining category data and insights
- Leading the accounting and documentation collection process for Novo Nordisk’s global Annual Renewable Energy Certificates
- Overseeing dashboard integrations for invoiced energy spend globally, coordinating with external data providers and internal specialists to ensure seamless integration of data
- Managing purchase orders and procurement software for the Cluster, handling energy-related RFQs/RFIs, documentation, timely updates, and supplier dialogues
- Conducting supply market and data analysis, assisting senior colleagues on supplier negotiations and analytics
Your role also involves supporting more senior colleagues in driving category groups and supplier meetings e.g. internal Energy Forums, Sourcing Reviews, Sustainability Advisory Board, and more.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we imagine you:
- Hold a master’s degree in renewable energy, procurement, business, finance, or another relevant field
- Bring some practical experience from the renewable energy sector in a relevant position, a consulting role, or procurement
- Show a strong willingness to learn, take ownership of tasks, and adapt with agility while maintaining an operational focus
- Showcase strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Display full proficiency in both spoken and written English
Existing proficiency (or demonstration of technical capacity to learn) procurement software and data management tools would be a strong advantage, along with proficiency in Danish.
On a personal level, you are operationally minded, highly motivated, and detail-oriented team player, thriving in a dynamic environment with many stakeholders involved and where collaboration and problem-solving are key. You are curious and are eager to learn, taking ownership of your tasks and turning challenges into opportunities. You have strong analytical skills and excel in a project orientated environment, engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
About the department
SSIMS is one of the central sourcing units in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division, responsible for short- medium- and long-term strategic sourcing activities, which involves global identification and strategic management of suppliers for Novo Nordisk’s worldwide pharmaceutical production sites.
You will be part of a diverse department that ensures global supply of Energy, Production Services, and Supplies, and other critical production materials and services. Joining our Energy cluster, you will be surrounded by experienced colleagues, allowing you to continue your development within the sourcing domain.
