Your impact begins here
As Student Assistant Communications at the World Diabetes Foundation (WDF), you will help more people see the progress behind diabetes prevention and care projects in low- and middle-income countries. You will plan and create social media content, support campaigns such as the Global Diabetes Walk and turn stories from projects and partners into digital storytelling that informs stakeholders. Your work will strengthen WDF’s digital presence and help amplify the impact of its projects and partners around the world.

What you’ll bring
You are curious, creative and motivated to learn. You take responsibility for your tasks, and you’re comfortable asking questions and working closely with colleagues.
You also:

Are enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or master’s programme, such as communication, media, journalism, marketing, international development, global health or a related field.

Have an interest in social media and digital communication and understand how content can be adapted for different channels and audiences.

Have experience creating written, visual, photo or short-form video content – through your studies, student work, volunteering or personal projects.

Communicate confidently in written and spoken English.

Are structured, collaborative and interested in global health and international development.

Experience with tools such as Canva, video-editing software, Mailchimp or Google Analytics. Most importantly, you want to learn and contribute.

What you’ll do
You will work hands-on with WDF’s digital channels and campaigns. You will:
Help plan, create, publish and schedule content for WDF’s LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook channels.
Support campaigns and initiatives – particularly the Global Diabetes Walk – through content planning, asset development and community engagement.
Monitor WDF’s social media channels, engage with relevant audiences and contribute to regular performance reporting.
Assist with digital storytelling, fundraising communication and WDF’s engagement activities with Novo Nordisk.
Work with colleagues to identify stories, collect photos, videos and data, and develop content aligned with WDF’s brand and communications priorities.
Depending on your interests, experience and the team’s priorities, you may also contribute to website content, newsletters, photography, short-form video and communications analytics.

Who you’ll work with
You will join WDF’s team in Gentofte, Denmark. WDF was founded in 2002 as an independent foundation by Novo Nordisk A/S and is today a leading global funder of diabetes prevention and care projects in low- and middle-income countries.
WDF is a diverse team based in Denmark, working closely with partners around the world. Day to day, you will work with colleagues across WDF to find the stories worth telling, gather the photos, videos and data behind them, and shape content for international audiences.
