About the World Diabetes Foundation

The World Diabetes Foundation was founded in 2002 as an independent foundation by Novo Nordisk A/S, and today is a leading global funder of diabetes prevention and care projects in low- and middle-income countries. We are a diverse team based primarily in Gentofte, Denmark, collaborating with partners worldwide.

The role

Join the Communication, Sustainability & People & Organisation team to help us strengthen WDF’s digital presence. You will create engaging social content, support priority campaigns (incl. Global Diabetes Walk), and help us use social channels more strategically to engage partners, inform donors and stakeholders, and amplify NCD agendas. Our current strategy prioritises LinkedIn and Instagram growth while maintaining a presence on Facebook. We emphasise authentic content, interaction, and employee advocacy.

What you’ll do

  • Plan, create, publish, and schedule highquality content for WDF’s social channels (organic and paid), with a LinkedInfirst approach and supporting Instagram and Facebook relevant.
  • Monitor channels, engage with audiences, and prepare regular performance reports (e.g., quarterly SoMe KPIs/insights).
  • Support flagship campaigns and initiatives — especially the Global Diabetes Walk — with content planning, assets, and community engagement.
  • Contribute to communications for fundraising (stories, updates, appreciation posts) and WDF–Novo Nordisk engagement activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across WDF to source stories, photos/videos, and data; uphold brand and channel best practices.
  • Learn and use standard distribution/analytics tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Google Analytics) to improve performance and share learnings.

What you bring

  • You keep up with social media trends and know how to get a message across; you’re creative and structured.
  • Experience creating short video, photo, and copy content for social channels; basic editing skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and solve problems, moving quickly when needed and planning ahead for campaigns.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with colleagues and partners.
  • Advanced English skills (written and spoken).
  • Interest in global health and development — motivation to amplify impact stories from our projects and partners.

What we offer

  • A purposedriven, international environment with opportunities to learn about global health, communications, and campaigning.
  • A chance to shape highvisibility campaigns like the Global Diabetes Walk and contribute to fundraising storytelling.

Practicalities & how to apply

  • Workplace: Gentofte (Denmark).
  • Working hours: ~15 hours/week (flexible around studies).
  • Start date: As soon as possible
