Project Vice President, Expansion, Aseptic Manufacturing Gentofte, Novo Nordisk

We are looking for a Project Vice President who is ready to shape and take the leadership of the Project Portfolio management for the expansion and improvement of the Aseptic Manufacturing site in Gentofte. This person will drive a project management department that ensures successful project delivery and execution of the major investment projects in this area of Novo Nordisk.

The position  
As Project Vice President, Aseptic Manufacturing Gentofte you will lead, oversee and manage a project portfolio that aims to support the transition of Gentofte from a low volume to a high-volume production site through upgrading and modernising projects to reflect its future needs. 

In this position, you will set the strategical and operational direction and coordination of relevant projects, being accountable for project governance, project execution, investment budgets, and compliance without affecting current operations.  

The Project Vice President acts as a coordinator and cooperator, needing to communicate closely with senior leadership stakeholders across the organization, supporting project management teams, and negotiating project resources and agreements with external and internal stakeholders. You will also act as a representative towards the Gentofte municipality and its neighbors, building relationships based on project needs. You will report to the Corporate Vice President of Aseptic Manufacturing Gentofte leading a team of approx. 5 senior project managers, as well as external contractors. 

With a constant gaze into the future of essential Novo Nordisk production, you will be responsible for the decision-making related to the Project Portfolio from Idea to Execution, requiring independence, autonomy and influence. You will secure the strategy, rights and agreements necessary, own the prioritization of projects, and oversee risk mitigation activities. This expansion will have high attention from Executive Management, the entire organization, and from the public as the projects are of vital importance for Novo Nordisk to meet future demands and delivery to patients. This requires exceptional stakeholder management skills, a solid understanding of Novo Nordisk business and constructive communication skills, robustness and resilience.  

 

This position is based in Gentofte, Denmark.  

 

Qualifications  
The Project Vice President must be an excellent leader, capable of coaching and building strong and high-performing teams aligned with the Novo Nordisk Way and the company’s vision and values.  

The job requires a very high degree of independence and autonomy. Experience working with multidisciplinary, large and international projects with high level of construction is a strong requirement for success in this role. Furthermore, it is important to be equally experienced in collaborating with senior stakeholders, driving decision making and project strategy, and leading a team of diverse, highly skilled and talented colleagues.   

You hold a BSc or MSc in Engineering, or similar discipline. You have +15 years of industry-related project management experience from driving construction projects in industries such as pharmaceutical industry, oil or gas or similar regulated industries. Additionally, we expect more than 10 years of experience working with consulting engineers and suppliers. Strong leadership experience is expected, as well as being comfortable in building solid professional networks.  

 

Leading, strategizing and ensuring project continuity and senior stakeholder’s expectations requires proactive, strategic communication, as well as the ability to foresee, adapt and act on issues. You can communicate in an impactful, direct and engaging manner that drives project decision making together with senior stakeholders and project owners. You are a trusted advisor that builds and maintains long-lasting relationships and networks and that can work through change and uncertainty. As a leader you have a global mindset and you have a strong cultural awareness, appreciating and understanding the business benefit of diversity.  

Fluency in English, verbal and written, is a must. Fluency in Danish is a plus. 
  

About Novo Nordisk Aseptic Manufacturing Gentofte  
Novo Nordisk, Product Supply Aseptic Manufacturing (AM) are responsible for all aseptic manufacturing in Novo Nordisk, including formulation, filling and inspection and operating across 7 countries and 11 sites. Gentofte Site supports the production and manufacturing of hemophilia and diabetes-care related products, including their formulation and filling. The investment in its manufacturing capacity is important in meeting the future demands of patients. Gentofte site employs about 850 people.   

The investment covers projects working on upgrading the site without disrupting current operations, such as establishing new gowning buildings and warehouse capacity, utility supply, increase wash and sterilization, and infrastructure projects.
