The Position 

We are looking for a Clinical Research Physician/Investigator to provide medical and scientific input to developing, executing and reporting clinical trials conducted at CLINiC.  

The main responsibilities include: 

  • Ensuring the safety, well-being, and rights of clinical trial participants. 
  • Contributing to the daily operation, planning, and management of clinical activities at CLINiC. 
  • Developing trial protocols and leading trial teams. 
  • Setting and maintaining training standards for CLINiC staff, with a focus on clinical trial processes and managing medical emergencies. 
  • Responsible for clinical oversight and governance, including management of protocol deviations, trial risk assessments, site risk assessments, CAPAs, and issue management. 
  • Delivering accurate scientific and medical input to stakeholders, interpreting and communicating scientific data and assessing the impact of new findings.

Qualifications 

We are looking for Clinical Research Physicians/Investigators as new colleagues in our CLINiC team, having either: 

  • A specialization and excellent clinical experience in either Internal Medicine, or Anesthesiology, including competencies in Emergency Medicine, assessing ECG and laboratory results, along with knowledge of the Danish healthcare system. In addition to being fluent in English, proficiency in Danish is also required in this case. Knowledge in Clinical Pharmacology is highly appreciated. 
  • Or with vast hands-on experience as an investigator in conducting early phase trials, in e.g. First-in-Human (FIH) trials and experienced in Clinical Pharmacology. For this role, there is no need to be able to speak Danish or have knowledge of the Danish healthcare system.  

To succeed in the role(s) you: 

  • Are a Medical Doctor with documented clinical and scientific merits from a PhD degree or equivalent. 
  • Either bring proven clinical experience in either Internal Medicine or Anesthesiology/ Emergency Medicine  
  • Or have demonstrated expertise in overseeing early clinical trials as an investigator, with a strong foundation in clinical trial methodology and adherence to all relevant regulations, including GCP-ICH standards. 

Highly appreciated would be: 

  • Proven experience in teaching and guiding clinical or trial staff, enhancing team skills, and promoting compliance with clinical best practices. 
  • Knowledge in Clinical Pharmacology. 
  • Experience with strategic and scientific planning in clinical development within the pharmaceutical industry, along with a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical business, is preferable.

About the department  

CLINiC is a new and innovative department in Novo Nordisk, with a focus on early-phase trials. Conducting trials in healthy volunteers across various therapy areas, CLINiC plays a key role in de-risking and advancing lead candidates, contributing to a robust, differentiated pipeline for long-term sustainability. The team moved into the newly renovated facility in Gentofte in May 2023 and are currently preparing staff, workflows, and systems to be able to conduct early-phase clinical trials, with plans to be able to accommodate up to approximately 30-40 participants.
