Your new role

 

As Senior Medical Advisor – Cardiovascular, you'll be the subject matter expert driving medical strategy and excellence across our cardiovascular portfolio. Working at the intersection of clinical expertise and strategic business planning, you'll lead medical input to complex projects that shape how we support healthcare professionals and improve patient care across the NHS.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading medical strategy and providing expert input to strategic planning for cardiovascular therapy areas, supporting short, medium, and long-term business objectives
  • Analyzing and identifying opportunities for medical and cross-functional activities based on insights into unmet needs of patients, HCPs, and health systems
  • Partnering with healthcare systems and medical associations to develop solutions along clinical care pathways that drive improved patient outcomes
  • Contributing to integrated evidence plans, evaluating evidence gaps, and providing scientific input to clinical trials, observational studies, and registries
  • Leading medical input into national HTAs (NICE, AWMSG, SMC) submissions and national guideline reviews
  • Ensuring compliant, high-quality KOL management and scientific dialogue through an omnichannel approach, including participation in local and national conferences
  • Providing medical/scientific support and code compliance oversight for promotional and non-promotional materials in accordance with ABPI Code of Practice
  • Mentoring colleagues across the medical affairs team and supporting field medical teams in executing tactical medical plans

You'll be joining our Cardiorenal Medical Affairs team, where we're at the forefront of addressing cardiovascular disease through innovative therapies and strategic healthcare partnerships. Our team works collaboratively across the UK to ensure medical excellence, from evidence generation through to clinical implementation, always keeping patients at the heart of what we do.

 

Your skills & qualifications

 

We're looking for a clinically credible cardiovascular expert who thrives on strategic thinking and cross-functional collaboration. You'll bring:

  • GMC registered doctor or UK registered pharmacist with extensive knowledge and clinical experience in cardiovascular disease, or relevant PhD
  • Proven experience working within the NHS with strong understanding of treatment landscapes and clinical pathways for patients living with cardiovascular disease
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience focusing on medical affairs and communication (preferable)
  • Clinical and research experience in cardiovascular disease, with knowledge of GCP, clinical trial methodology, and drug development
  • Strong scientific credibility combined with excellent communication, networking, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of UK healthcare systems, ABPI/PMCPA requirements, and publication processes
  • Ability to manage complex tasks in a matrix organization and quickly adapt to new situations in a continuously developing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft packages and fluency in written and spoken English
  • ABPI final medical signatory qualification (preferred but not essential)
