If so, then we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Medical Advisor to join the UK Biopharm Medical Affairs team. As this is a field based position we are flexible on where in the UK you are currently based.


The Job

As a member of Biopharm medical affairs team, internally, the Senior Medical Advisor works together with highly professional and specialised people within marketing, market access, communications, regulatory, publication planning, clinical, safety, health economy, communication, Novo Nordisk Head Quarters and other CMR affiliates.


The Senior Medical Advisor is an internal resource in developing, reviewing and ABPI approving educational and promotional material, such as slide kits, press-releases, marketing campaigns, HE-models, websites etc.


The Senior Medical Advisor is a strategic partner within the brand project teams and is responsible for providing scientific advice to the UK brand strategies to support the cross functional project team of medical, marketing, market access and communications.


Externally, the Medical Advisor acts as a liaison between Novo Nordisk and Key Opinion Leaders.  The advisor must maintain relationships with external experts and cultivate relationships with new opinion leaders, through UK Advisory Board meetings, conferences and other scientific activities. The Biopharm medical team is also responsible for the generation of real world data to support health care professional in making decisions and to improve patients’ health. 


This position is field based and requires traveling throughout the UK as well as attending international conferences and meeting.



The successful candidate must have a background as a Medical Doctor or Pharmacist with relevant clinical experience and preferably a research background (clinical or basic science) and/or business education.  Relevant knowledge and experience in rare blood disorders is highly preferred and experience from a pharmaceutical company is also desirable.


ABPI final signatory status is desirable. If you are not already a final signatory then you must meet the criteria required to undertake the training and be prepared to work towards final signatory status.


You will have attained the ABPI Level 3 Diploma in the promotion of prescription medicines or be willing to work towards this additional certification within an agreed time frame.


You will be action oriented with a strong drive and focus on results, a team player who is customer focused, with good peer relationships, innovative thinker with strong project management skills.  You will thrive in a complex business environment with high integrity and the ability to solve challenging problems.


With a flexible attitude, you will be motivated by personal development.   It is essential that you possess strong presentation skills. Travel inside and outside of UK should be expected.


Fluency in spoken and written English is a pre-requisite.


About the department

Medical Affairs is the department within the CMR organisation (Clinical, Medical & Regulatory), responsible for timely and credible scientific dialogue. The Medical Advisor belongs to a highly motivated team of Medical Doctors, Clinical scientists and specialist Nurses with a clinical research background and a good understanding of Marketing and Market Access strategies.


The Biopharm medical affairs provide support and strategic scientific advice to the Biopharm business unit in specialised care for rare blood disorder, rare endocrine disorders, and womens health.


The Biopharm medical affairs team is a small but highly professional and determined team who is integral to the success of Novo Nordisk purpose to provide a better care for individuals with Rare Blood Disorders, Rare Endocrine Disorders, and Women’s health.
