Your new role
As our new Policy Lead, you will take on a wide range of responsibilities such as:

 

  • Ensure that appropriate monitoring is in place for the business to be aware of relevant changes to existing policy, or plans to introduce new policy that could impact our therapeutic areas – particularly obesity.
  • Provide analysis of any changes to the relevant teams within the business
  • To ensure that the business is responding where needed to ensure the best outcome, including through advocacy where appropriate.
  • To identify opportunities for new policy that could benefit Novo Nordisk UK’s business goals.
  • Work with private healthcare providers, relevant trade and clinical associations to develop plans for UK regulation of the sector to prioritise patient safety and ensure the highest standards of care in obesity.
  • Identify areas of mutual interest with private providers to collaborate on (eg. tackling counterfeits)
  • To build support from relevant stakeholders
  • To participate in relevant groups/committees looking at this issue
  • To develop and implement plans for implementation of policy that is aligned to the Novo Nordisk UK business.

 

This role is based at Novo Nordisk’s UK office in Gatwick.

 

Your new department        
The Corporate Affairs Department’s role in the UK is to protect and enhance the reputation of Novo Nordisk and to showcase the business’ expertise in the areas we work. Focused on some of the biggest public health challenges of day, the team comprises public affairs and communications professionals who are highly skilled in working cross functionally across the organisation and building external networks. 

 

Your skills & qualifications 
We're seeking candidates who fulfil the following prerequisites:

 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in public relations, politics, public administration, social policy, public health, or life sciences degree.
  • Extensive experience in UK healthcare policy and in-depth understanding of UK health care system, key stakeholder organisations and opinion leaders.
  • Significant experience and working knowledge of ABPI Code.
  • Significant experience in stakeholder engagement (internal and external).
  • Ability to analyse complex information and situations and develop simple and convincing communications either to inform or to develop the company position and/or seek to advance positive change.
  • Team orientation working with Corporate Affairs colleagues, cross functional team and through external coalitions.
  • Ability to work within a strict code of practice promoting transparency and integrity in decision making.

 

As a person you demonstrate strong leadership that helps Novo Nordisk grow both the business and our people. You are flexible, a self-starter, and grounded in core leadership skills. You can prioritise effectively, work under pressure, juggle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality. You communicate clearly in oral and written form, tailoring your message and presentation to different audiences, and you build strong relationships both internally and externally. You are deadline-driven and focused on the essentials; you consistently deliver results without compromising standards.
