National Strategic Partnership Manager

National Strategic Partnership Manager
Shape the future of NHS partnerships and help millions of people living with cardiovascular, renal and metabolic conditions access better care. This is not a traditional pharmaceutical sales role — it is a strategic, system-level opportunity to drive meaningful healthcare improvement through credible, compliant collaboration with the NHS.
Your new role
As a National Strategic Partnership Manager within our Integrated Healthcare and Strategic Partnerships team, you will operate at the intersection of NHS policy, healthcare transformation, population health and strategic partnership development. Working with national and regional NHS organisations, clinical leaders and partner organisations, you will identify, develop and deliver high-impact partnerships that support implementation of NHS priorities and improve outcomes for people living with cardiovascular, renal and metabolic conditions.
This is a strategic, predominantly non-promotional role. Success is measured through the development and delivery of healthcare partnerships, service improvement programmes and system outcomes — not sales performance.
Day to day, you will:
- Develop and deliver national strategic partnerships aligned to NHS priorities across cardiovascular, renal and metabolic disease
- Work with NHS England, Integrated Care Systems, Health Innovation Networks, Royal Colleges, clinical leaders and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for large-scale healthcare improvement
- Translate national policy, clinical guidance and population health priorities into practical partnership programmes and implementation plans
- Lead the development of collaborative working projects, service improvement programmes and other partnership models that improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery
- Identify opportunities to address variation in care, health inequalities and implementation barriers across the NHS
- Develop business cases, strategic plans and partnership proposals that align NHS priorities with Novo Nordisk capabilities
- Act as the national partnership lead for agreed strategic programmes, ensuring robust governance, delivery and evaluation of outcomes
- Work closely with Integrated Healthcare Managers to support national-to-local implementation of partnership programmes
- Collaborate with Medical, Market Access, Public Affairs, Health Economics, Legal, Compliance and Commercial colleagues to ensure aligned and effective execution
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior national and regional stakeholders across the healthcare system
Your new department
As part of International Operations, you will join our largest operational unit. Covering 194 countries and 95% of the world's population, more than 18,000 of us work passionately to serve 35 million patients each day. With a promise to outperform the competition, we continue to be the growth driver for Novo Nordisk, and to improve health at scale across the globe.
Within the UK, this role sits at the centre of our strategic partnership approach with the NHS. The National Strategic Partnership Manager plays a key role in supporting system-level change, responding to NHS prioritisation, and enabling timely patient access through credible, compliant and value-driven collaboration with NHS partners. The role sits within the Integrated Healthcare and Strategic Partnerships team, part of the Market Access Business Unit. Established in 2025, this is a newly formed, high-impact team created to respond directly to NHS articulated priorities. The team exists to add value for both the NHS and Novo Nordisk by enabling credible, compliant partnerships that support system change and improve outcomes for patients at population scale.
Your skills & qualifications
We are seeking an individual with strong NHS system insight and a proven track record of delivering strategic partnerships that result in meaningful healthcare improvement. You will bring:
- Significant experience of developing and delivering healthcare partnerships, collaborative working programmes or healthcare transformation initiatives, with demonstrable experience working with senior stakeholders at NHS England, regional, ICS, Health Board or equivalent level
- Experience of translating NHS policy, strategy or clinical priorities into implementation programmes, and of leading or contributing to non-promotional healthcare partnerships where success was measured through healthcare, service or patient outcomes
- Strong understanding of national and regional NHS structures, priorities and decision-making processes, combined with excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Strong project and programme management capability, including governance, delivery and evaluation, with experience operating in complex matrix environments and leading through influence
- Excellent knowledge of cardiovascular, renal and metabolic healthcare challenges and associated NHS priorities, along with a strong understanding of ABPI governance and compliant partnership working
- ABPI qualification (required)
- Degree in healthcare, science, business or related discipline, or equivalent experience
This is not a traditional pharmaceutical sales or key account management role. The primary focus is the development and delivery of strategic healthcare partnerships, collaborative working and system-level improvement programmes. Successful candidates will typically be able to demonstrate experience of healthcare transformation, pathway implementation, service redesign, partnership delivery or healthcare policy implementation where success was measured through healthcare, service or patient outcomes rather than sales performance.
