The position

We are seeking a Commercial Finance Partner to join our Finance & Operations team in the UK. As a Commercial Finance Partner, you will play a crucial role in supporting our rapid growth in existing therapies and our investments in exciting new therapies. Your objective will be to ensure that our spending is both effective and efficient, maximizing our impact and success.

In this role you will:

  • Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, providing financial insights and guidance to support strategic decision-making
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and manage budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting key insights and recommendations
  • Collaboration: Work closely with departmental heads and other stakeholders to provide financial guidance and support
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial control and reporting accuracy

 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role we imagine that you have:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Eco nomics, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is preferred
  • Experience: A couple of year as minimum experience in financial analysis, commercial finance, or a related role within a corporate environment
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
    • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage


About the department

The Finance & Operations (F&O) department at Novo Nordisk's UK affiliate is integral to the company's success, driving financial stewardship and operational excellence. The department encompasses various key activities, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. It plays a pivotal role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing insightful financial analysis and ensuring optimal resource allocation.

The F&O team also oversees compliance with financial regulations and internal policies, manages financial reporting, and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 

Through its collaborative approach, the department supports all business units, enabling them to achieve their financial and operational goals effectively.
