Are you passionate about animal welfare and biomedical research? Would you like to work hands‑on as a veterinarian while supporting high‑quality research in a global healthcare company? We are looking for a dedicated Laboratory Animal Veterinarian to join our experienced and collaborative veterinary team at Novo Nordisk.

 

Your new role

As a Laboratory Animal Veterinarian, you will be an integrated part of the veterinary team, contributing to both animal welfare and scientific excellence. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing specialized veterinary medical and clinical care to laboratory animals
  • Overseeing animal health in the facilities and ensuring animals are fit for scientific studies
  • Supporting research activities, including study design, model development, substance administration, surgery and other veterinary procedures
  • Advising on anesthesia, analgesia, pain management, sampling, postoperative care and autopsies
  • Provide guidance on project-related protocols involving experimental work and relevant regulations and guidelines within Laboratory Animal Science.
  • Ensure adherence to Novo Nordisk bioethical guidelines and advise on 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) and state-of-the-art animal welfare standards.
  • Contributing to formal and informal training of staff working with animals and advising on protocols, regulations, the 3Rs and animal welfare standards

You will also participate in a shared oncall rotation together with other laboratory animal veterinarians.

 

Your new department

You will join an enthusiastic and experienced veterinary team that supports researchers, laboratory technicians and animal technicians with expert veterinary advice and assistance. The team is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare while enabling successful biomedical research. The workplace spans two sites, including Måløv.

 

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, you bring the following:

  • Danish authorization as a veterinarian
  • Completed Danish Course in Laboratory Animal Science (EU Function AD, formerly FELASA B)
  • Experience in laboratory animal science or postgraduate research within biomedical science (recent graduates will also be considered)
  • Excellent IT skills and experience with IT systems/software for improvement of processes is an advantage
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently
  • High motivation, initiative and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with varied tasks

A genuine passion for animal welfare and a handson approach to veterinary work is essential.

Salary:  For this role, the Annual Base Salary ranges from 651,000.00 to 956,900.00 DKK, corresponding to the level of the position.


The placement within the salary range will be assessed during the recruitment process based on the candidate’s skills, competencies, knowledge, and relevant experience.

 

Incentives and Benefits: The salary package may include short-term and/or long-term incentives as well as other employee benefits based on position level, location, functional area and relevant market benchmarks.
