District Business Manager (Edmonton Based: Northern Alberta and Saskatchewan)

 

 

Purpose of the Job

The District Business Manager manages Sales Representatives within a specified geographical area, ensuring that Novo Nordisk's annual sales objectives are achieved and supported with a clear consistent national promotional message.

 

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Prepares and oversees the annual district business plans including key business drivers; Implements sales forecasts, key district strategies and budget forecasts
  • Continues to strengthen physician targeting and strategic planning by territory and within budget
  • Assists Sales Representatives with preparation of annual territory business plans and monitors district performance to plan on a regular basis
  • Leads Sales Representatives to successfully achieve their annual objectives through motivational coaching techniques
  • Establishes open and consistent channels of communication with Sales Representatives through regular management rhythms (sharing competitive news, coaching tips, problem solving, motivational messages, etc.)
  • Recruits new employees, implements performance appraisals, directs the development of staff, and carries out disciplinary action as needed
  • Organizes and conducts motivational Regional Meetings on a bi-annual basis or as needed
  • Liaises with the Director of Sales, other District Business Managers, and the Marketing department, coordinating activities, providing information, and developing goals and strategies
  • Attends conferences, symposiums, and lectures to represent the company as required to provide information, promote products, and monitor market trends
  • Oversees and coordinates conventions, conferences, and workshops, assigning tasks, providing information, and resolving problems when and where needed or assigned

 

 

Key Compliance Accountabilities:

  • Understands and complies with all sales and business ethics policies
  • Ensures all team members are trained and compliant with all business ethics policies and are adhering to the Novo Nordisk Way

 

 

Qualifications (Minimum Requirements):

    •   University degree - Preferably in Science

 

 

Preferred Experience Requirement:

  • 5 - 10 years yrs. industry experience with strong background In Sales. Some marketing experience preferred.
  • Previous pharmaceutical sales management experience
  • Strong product and therapeutic knowledge
  • 2 – 4 years’ experience in pharmaceutical company preferably in a Marketing Department
