In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Oral Finished Products (OFP) tableting facility in Durham, NC sits on 194,000 square feet of state-of-the-art equipment and supports the production of our innovative oral treatments for patients with type 2 diabetes. Position Purpose
Disassemble, wash, unload & assemble components & equipment in an Oral Finished Product environment. Support Bulk & Packaging teams at the right rate, the right time & consistent with business/regulatory needs.
Accountabilities
- Work in a safe & environmentally responsible way
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
- Perform cleaning activities including, but not limited to, processing components, parts & assemblies, troubleshooting equipment, aiding in setup & teardown of equipment
- Attends weekly BTS Scheduling meeting, to prioritize cleaning activities-based on production schedule
- Coordinates cleaning activities, loads wash carts & performs wash activities for Packaging, based on current procedures
- Coordinates & performs monthly, quarterly, & yearly area cleanings, based on current procedures
- Supports Engineering for wash equipment upgrades, testing & process improvement projects
- Check & adjust mechanical assemblies critical to the accurate & aseptic filling of insulin
- Inspect & process components necessary for manufacture & packaging of oral finished product
- Operate, monitor & control equipment, systems & processes
- Achieve production goals
- Maintain GMP Production areas & perform cleanings & environmental monitoring
- Actively participate in & support event response
- Review, revise & author SOP’s & other documents as required
- Assist during equipment maintenance including restoration of lost function, predictive & preventative maintenance
- Train fellow employees in areas of expertise; aggressively learn systems & equipment outside of own expertise
- Record/review production data in BPR & associated forms
- Maintains supplies inventory for cleaning activities
- Collaborates with cLean Partner to optimize 5S opportunities
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required (AAS degree in related field preferred)
Desired Qualifications
- BioWorks certification
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in manufacturing industry, FDA regulated preferred
- Ability to read, write & understand complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to detail
- Computer literacy
- Proven expertise in planning/organizing, managing execution, checking results & revising work plans
Physical & Other Requirements
- Occasionally moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 lbs. within facility using various body positions
- Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands
- Ability to be on feet for up to a 10-hour shift
- Corrected vision to 20/25
- May require color vision based on role
- Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service equipment & can work atop elevated positions
- Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials
- May be required to wear latex gloves
- Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
- May be required to work for short periods of time with respiratory protection
