In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our Emerging Technologies -Solid Dosage Forms US facility in Durham, NC is a 194,000 square foot tableting and packaging facility that supports the production of our innovative oral treatments for patients with type 2 diabetes. SDF maintains a curious and pioneering spirit, harmonious with our growing pipeline of new products and emerging technologies.

The Position
Plan, develop & implement all DFP internal communication strategy and tactics to support business success. Coordinate with Corporate Communications on all external communications, as warranted. Collaborate with other NN communications professionals, as warranted. Develop & execute communication programs, coach & develop others to support communications & change management activities for successful implementation of projects, initiatives & strategy. Manage events/tours/visitors, as required.
Relationships
Reports to Director / Senior Director.
Essential Functions
- Partner with site leadership, management & NN Communications partners to support the development & implementation of communication plans aligned with business needs, including strategy comprehension, change initiatives, organizational culture & employee engagement
- Communicate & drive activities that clarify the direction & importance of the site business strategy
- Collaborate & act as contact for corporate initiatives to raise awareness of business initiatives
- Develop internal communication strategy aligned with corporate and US communication priorities & strategy
- Coach & develop leaders in effective communication approaches, messaging, and timing
- Develop tools & methods to bridge communication gaps between senior leadership & shop floor, including All Hands meetings, Leaders Forum, etc. Provide leaders with feedback & advise on communication plans, messaging & execution
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between internal communications and external communications or public affairs activities, such as milestone events, community engagement, employer branding, and site-level announcements
- Lead strategy for communication channel solutions (SharePoint, digital news, digital signage, digital workplace applications, etc.); support execution team with direction, troubleshooting & best practices to ensure “news” content is timely, relevant, and disseminated in a strategic and coordinated way
- Plan & execute processes, materials & meetings to establish local strategy. Produce executive & site-level communications, including presentations, talking points, emails, internal news articles, Viva posts, photos, and videos
- Lead the Site’s SLT meeting execution to include contributing to topics and leadership message development, as well as logistic and event execution, in partnership with IT, Facilities, and administrative staff
- Drive & support cross-organizational project management activities
- Develop editorial calendar for business-relevant news distribution; strategize purpose & use of regular newsletter distribution
- Develop policy & ensure compliance to local Visitor Policy in partnership with Facility Services
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties

Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Communications, Public Relations, Organizational development or related field with a minimum of five (5) years of strong experience in strategic planning & implementation of organizational communications &/or change management required
- Master’s Degree in Organizational Communications, Public Relations, Organizational development or related field from an accredited university preferred
- Support of multi-shift manufacturing or pharmaceutical organization preferred
- Advanced knowledge & experience with MS PowerPoint required
- Proficient in MS SharePoint & other Microsoft applications required
- Strong knowledge of business & communication challenges required
- Demonstrated experience & excellence in coaching & meeting facilitation required
- Outstanding written, verbal & public speaking communication skills required
- Outstanding organization & planning skills for development & execution of programs preferred
- Proficient with photography & video editing & production skills preferred
- Demonstrated ability to leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence–enabled tools, to enhance communication strategy development, content creation, insight generation, and workflow efficiency while adhering to company policies and ethical standards, required
- Strong project management skills a plus
